thanks man! looks to be just about right, but description says "easily cuttable and soft and malleable. That doesn't seem to describe the kind of material the grill is composed of. are you sure this will work?
It's aluminum and formable. I cut it with Sheetmetal shears. The grill is powder coated black so no oxidation at all. You can look on Amazon for a flat sheet if so desired, so you won't need to try and flatten the roll out.

Well the hood is painted and installed! Looks fantastic, I've got to get the stripes done, but I am very pleased with the overall results!!

i did exactly what
Joe Gonsalves did on mine i also put black cover over my radiator o/flow bottle as it stood out like the proverbial thru the opening
