Said it before and will say it again: when it comes to vents and scoops of any sort on a Mustang, make it functional or make it gone. The only thing the fake stuff accomplishes is to diminish the credibility of the brand.

Then :ford: has diminished the brand for years. My 01 had fake side scoops and hood scoop from the factory. My 08 GT/CS same thing.

Dude.

Seriously.

That is the PAST.

Ford hadn't had fake scoops since 2004.

And the CS HAS A HISTORY OF being "foofy" but at least even now they left the scoops out.

He was speaking of The brand TODAY. key word. Today.

Let's move it forward. Not back.

Ford has modernized the platform with some functional retro cues for the 50th.

But they are moving forward with Mustang. So should the people who claim to be "improving" the design.

The stock car looks better.

Fake Side scoops?

Hood nostrils?

Louvres?

Really?

I guess the poor Mustang design really CANT advance with so many of its supporters stuck in the past.

Note to designers: Modernize!

Sheesh. It's getting truly bothersome now seeing even the camaro move forward while the true pony car is continually held back by crap like this.
1st post. This will seem off topic but I will come back to it.

I love the GT350 and here is why.

They fixed the damn hood of the 2015 GT.

I have both a 95 Cobra with factory spec 95 Cobra R hood and a 2005 GT. Both my cars have excellent forward visibility. I dont see tons of hood for miles in front of me. Even the cowl induction hood of my 95 is just not that bad.

When I test drove the 2015 GT Perf Pack I was less than enthusiastic about a lot of stuff. Number one gripe was the stupid hood. I hate how much of it I can see, meaning the top of the hood and the forward visibility. The style lines at the mid point of the hood annoyed me to death.

That is one thing about the GT350 that I love, they fixed the damn hood and the lines coming off the nose. Hate the nostril vents of the GT as well, much prefer the GT350 or outgoing GT500 style vents or even 2014 GT hood vents.

now to get on topic,

If cervinis did something between a 2015 GT350 hood and say that of a 2014 GT500 hood while doing away with the over dramatic ridges in the hood, the design would be more appealing.

Their car with something GT350 inspired and a more subtle wing would likely be insanely popular. Too much mixing of styles to have squarely hit the mark.

I like the side pipes. Do not like the spoiler, too big however the Steeda spoiler I dont mind. Would prefer a duckbill type of setup like the GT350 track pack design. Hate the slats for side windows, visibility in the s550 is way more restricted than my sn95 and sn197. The whole car feels massive to me by comparison and I wouldnt make choices that further reduce visbility.

I am in the "waiting to see what comes" group. If I can wait a year and maybe afford a GT350 so be it. Otherwise the built 331 I have sitting in my garage for my 95 Cobra may go into a type 65 FFR kit car.

I want a 2015 GT but it doesnt cause me to be as emotionally connected as with my unsophisticated bastard child 95 Cobra. Too much tech, too soft, and basically too nice. Beautiful car with the best interior of all Mustangs to date but doesnt touch my soul.

I very closely watch Cervinis, Steeda, and Rousch to see what comes but I dont think anyone has done better than Ford yet with the GT350 being the perfect design in my book.
The modernization and functionality of the car is what made me deviate from imports to something American. The American car industry has been losing to imports for quite awhile now and I always secretly rooted for a comeback for them. I liked a lot of things about muscle cars but the efficiency, reliability, and less than functional styling was a huge turn off for me. I am very happy with this car as is but modifications are always fun. As said, they should improve the car not hinder it. It's 2015 and the Mustang finally received the suspension it should have had for decades. It's time the after market adapted for the sophisticated car the Mustang has become.

There are few things (my opinion) that are sexier or more formidable looking in a modern performance car than a well-balanced and flowing form that is born out of high-capability function. Build into the car what it needs in order to accelerate, handle, ride, and brake like a champion and the result will tell anyone with eyes a powerful, even intimidating story. Glue on a bunch of obviously non-functional and pretentious decorations and the story that the vehicle tells becomes: "toy car" and "imitation" and "inauthentic". Of course no one has to agree with me. Drive what you like to suit your own tastes. For me, however, in a modern Mustang, I want it to be all real.

I thought the car looked really sharp in person.

Yes. You "get it."

Thanks for posting that.

There almost a fear of actual great design amongst the Mustang crowd and it sucks.

The Musysng of all American cars deserves to have a real shot at greatness in term of modern, actually cool design. The imports have done ok on this front. And the Lamborghini aventador really blew the lid off where modern vehicle design was going just as Audi did with lighting setups.

And it looks great.

Yet here we have Ford doing a delicate balancing act for the 50th between modern and retro, which in understandable. But it's clear they desire to move the car forward. Look at the new freaking awesome, ultramodern GT!!! That thing kicks butt! And that's the path aftermarket folks need to be looking at.

No more... "Dude brah... No what we should do?" What, yo?" "Like, side scoops, brah! And cover the windows with stuff. And make the hood even higher." "Yeah... And then put, like, round fogs in the grill! Like the '60's!" "Whoa. Righteous."

Slapping junk bonds n the Mustang isn't cool anymore.

How about some aftermarket lights that make it pop a new grill treatment that complements the angular intent. An even more modern mesh valance/diffuser.

Sleeker rocker panels. Carbon fiber, etc.

Not scoops and stickers and stripes and all that.

Even the cervini front splitter, while retaining a similar design to stock, just makes it chunkier and clunkier.

These guys know design.

While most of their stuff is outlandish looking, it's clear they have talent.

I just wish they'd actually grow some vision. And acquire good taste. Because this ain't it.

Yes, I'm ranting.

But for crying out loud, the mustang has been held back in terms of design and style for all the wrong reasons.

can we please get serious designers who don't want to capitalize on bad taste in order to make a quick buck?

Let's see some real, honest to goodness, back to the drawing board, think outside of that rotten old box, need, completely fresh design.

And if you end up with something familiar, challenge yourself. Don't allow yourself to go there.

I know the aftermarket designers are reading this.

This is for you.

Cervini did a nice job with the car, but it does give the S550 more RETRO feel. If that is what your looking for. Mustang has always been about customization. :headbang::cheers:

And this type of thinking is why we get stuck with this stuff.

He's right. Don't like it, search for a different heritage that suits your likes. *shrug*

Better yet, don't buy the side scoops.

Oh. Here come the Luddites.

It wouldn't be an issue if there were some modern choices.

But there aren't.

That's all there is practically.

First car was a Mustsng. And currently driving a Mustang.

It's not about leaving a passion because others don't care as much.

It's about communicating. And hoping it finds the right ear.
