Is it the orange that gives it away? I just want to know, if a cop looks at it, will it pass as factory? (I live in California)

If you figure in the downpipe and CAI, its not much cheaper than a big turbo kit, which has much more potential

and one of the charge pipes and there's other stuff that comes with it for $1300 more, I agree this is overpriced but it's a monopoly in a niche market so they can charge whatever they want, it's up to you if you wanna pay it.

Will this continue to produce power at a higher rpm where the factory one taps out?

I was really looking forward to this upgraded turbo, and then I get crushed by the price...

Guys this is a billet compressor wheel, triple ball bearing unit with a 18 month warranty.

The new Cavalli cast exhaust housing with larger AR is going to help with the top end. We are on the stock exhaust housing right now so it limits us above 6000. My shop car is making 340 flat line on 91 until 5800 and it is dropping off due to the restriction. As soon as we get the new housing on I believe we will be around the 400 mark on 91 or 93.

Will the new housing be split type/twin scroll design?

Hmm, so much for doing just a stock style turbo upgrade. At that price point, might as well wait and do the full on upgrade from MAP. I understand it has billet wheels and 3xBB...that hardware isn't cheap. But, I personally have no use for it, didn't do it on my Buicks either. Good ol journal bearing GT6152S made 587/600+ on my last Buick build at 21#, with very little lag. So I really don't see the need for BB unless you are looking for every little bit of hp and very minimal lag.

How much of an rpm gap is there between the journal and BB hitting full boost? Last I recall seeing in comparison, and its been a few years, was 300-400 rpm. With the improvement in metallurgy and turbo design, very curious if the gap is still the same.

I was hoping for around 1K. Time to save up for a full kit.

52lb/min :eyebulge:?

That is quite a big turbo, if the stock turbo is 52lb/min it should be able to make low 400whp depending on the mods.

52 Trim, not lb/min. The turbo makes about 30lb/min roughly.

This would be a nice bolt on turbo for a person that just wants a simple installation on a completely stock engine w/ no desire to push the limits or build an engine down the road. They've priced it 'just' high enough to make someone w/ those desires really think about if spending the extra $ on a full blown kit is more appropriate.

I have to agree w/ the others. I'd say $1500 +/- and they'd sell fine. At the asking price, no way.

Yeah, I would rather throw a 5858 on there and call it a day with this pricing.
