So, after looking through this forum it does seem that a catch can should be added forsure. My question is why are they all over $100? I found this:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/252038410509?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT
and to be honest, it looks perfect to me and I don't see what the difference would be between this one and another. But the again, I really don't know all that much about this stuff. So, What do you all think?

because people want premade, surefire kits made just for their car. you can make your own for under $50 easy but the overengineered and pre cut length hose is how they charge as much as they do. plus the ford style quick snap fittings are nice but hose clamps work just as good.

I agree that the catch can is beneficial, my point it I don't see how this $30 would perform any different than the $200 ones on the market. I would rather spend the leftover $170 on something else if it's not going to make a difference

The power of decision.... Use it! I'm sure anything that will separate oil and not allow it back into your engine would be helpful.

Might as well go to Home Depot and buy an air oil separator for an air compressor for $10 save even more.

Also some of the expensive ones such as the dual valve catch cans filter more than just the pcv line and provide much better protection.

could you point me into the direction of what I would be looking for? Is it essentially the same thing?

What else would you filter? and couldn't you just buy another filter for another line?

I think he's talking about the other line for the valve cover to intake. there's nothing special about it just add another oil separator and/or route the lines together add a simple check valve and BOOM home made "dual valve catch can"..

So two of these and I should be set? How do I attach this to the hoses? (sorry for the newbie questions, I had never even heard of catch cans before this week haha)

look at a catch can design you like and replicate it. Personally I would just gut the PCV, route a line to the separator (mount it with a bracket) find a check valve that screws into the separator then run the line to the intake manifold.

Read the specs on that compressed air water separator. Some are only rated at 125 degrees F. Find a metal bowl one. It's googleable.....

"How do I attach this to the hoses?"- This why guys buy the pre-engineered cans...
lol shots fired.. at least he's trying to learn his engine though. better than the people who spend $1000's on parts then pay shops to install because they don't know/want to know how to and brag about what the paid someone to do as if they did the work themselves. I wish this platform had more people willing to DIY parts than buy the most popular parts. that said, some pre-made kit are super nice!
