"How do I attach this to the hoses?"- This why guys buy the pre-engineered cans...
Very true. I'm not saying the pre-engineered ones are bad, but i bought this car to learn about it and love it. Sure I could blow $100-200 and be set, but I like the Idea of saving some money, learning about my car and let's be honest, there is no better feeling than when you do it yourself and pull it off :) Personally I'm excited to give this a shot and I really appreciate everyone's help because hey, we all had to start somewhere, right?

Might be a stupid question...

I'll have my Mishimoto catch can installed by my Ford dealer this week. They never heart about a catch can (Ford never sold Mustangs overhere..) Luckely there are nice install videos on the web

What is 'gut the PVC'? as I suppose this is something that needs to be done before installation?

u have a mishimoto catch can, no need to worry about gutting the PCV you will just remove the driver side PCV hose and replace with the mishioto provided hoses and clamps they are a direct fit

Because together with the CC they will install the Mishimoto IC which I don't think I will be able to install by myself.:D

I agree that the catch can is beneficial, my point it I don't see how this $30 would perform any different than the $200 ones on the market. I would rather spend the leftover $170 on something else if it's not going to make a difference
There will be a difference in can efficiency based on the design of the can and the filtering method. Some will work better than others, it really comes down to how efficient of a system you need. Below is a look at the internals of our baffled catch can.

Air Diverter – As the air/oil mixture enters the catch can, the diverter is the first component it hits. This piece is oriented on the inlet. It pushes air around the can to maximize separation.

Internal Baffle – This baffle design serves two functions. First, it prevents oil from sloshing around the can during high G-force situations such as acceleration or cornering. Second, the baffle provides additional internal surface area for the fluid to condense.

Bronze Filter – We use a 50 micron bronze filter in our catch can to separate fluids from air. This piece is extremely effective in limiting the amount of fluid exiting the can.

This catch can will perform differently compared to one with a simple steel mesh filter, as well as one an without any filtration at all.

Great post and I do agree with numerous points. Learning about CCV systems and component fabrication is an absolute blast. If you spend ample time researching and planning the kit, you can likely create something efficient, aesthetically pleasing, and relatively inexpensive. Direct fit kits (such as the one we offer for the EBM) are great for most users. They are easy to install and we take the guess work out of determining where to locate the can and how to efficiently separate fluid particles from CCV air. For most, a direct fit setup or at least a universal catch can is the starting point for this modification. DIYers like yourself can certainly come up with interesting solutions. Looking forward to your progress.

Great to hear! Yes, the grey or yellow colored mixtures are typically a result of condensation buildup, this is more prominent for colder environments.

Thanks

Happy I've chosen this one!

Let's see what happens after 2500Km or what is the best mileage to check on?

Thanks for the input John! And thank you for sharing mishi's design. I'm happy to hear you guys supporting DIYers and giving input! +1 for your company :)
