This has happened to me 5 times now both on my first motor and it has now happened on my second motor.

Was on full throttle in track mode over 60mph then all of a sudden it is like I hit the brakes, suddenly the power cut, if I would have had another car behind me sending it we would have crashed I believe, that is how bad it is.

The car does not go into limp mode as I can maintain the speed.

Is it the knock sensor? It is not traction related.

The V6 models had the same problem scaring the shit out of people at highway speeds. Turned out to be a defective throttle body. There was a recall.

Second engine on 2018 GT?

Was it a short block? Then it would be the same part. Hope that helps.

Knock sensor wouldnt cause that much power to be cut.

Sounds like the throttle body is closing.

I sent his by mistake to another guy with loss of acceleration problems. The people who make the throttle bodies have a history of issues.

Anyway:

Funny you should mention that as I’m not sure they ever did an error code. But it didn’t happen to me as it was a 2016 issue. But I’d keep that issue in my back pocket anyway. Some of the V6 guys just went and upgraded the throttle body anyway before they got the recall. Some even got reimbursed money from Ford as they replaced it with an after market unit. But the issue you described is exactly as they did along with the concern that it could have caused an accident. Probably the same manufacturer.

Thanks for the info. I will see if I can have the dealer have a look at it.
Would this throw a code?

It was a full complete engine I got exept the manifold. The manifold was the replaced. However not sure if the TB was changed or not...

Yeah not sure what it could be. How to check if it is the TB though

It is scray indeed! I will se if I have it caught on my dashcam! I can fully understand that it can cause an accident. Thinking if this happens in mid corner....

A bit sketchy right when it happened.
Feels almost like hitting the brakes.

I also have had a similar issue. I have a 2015 GT with a PP2 with 52000 miles on her. When doing some “quick” driving I have had a stutter or what sounds like a fuel cut when my gas pedal is to the floor right after the shifts. I’m am revving out to about 6000 rpm. Have noticed it from 3rd to 4th gear recently. Once the 1 second or so stutter passes the car keeps driving like nothing had happened. This does not occur when I roll into the gas pedal only when I immediately go to the floor. Other then this she drives great.
