Hey GT500 guys-

I have a 2021 mustang GT via stage 2 that has been Roush'ed out via dealer with a similiar lowered front fascia and rear GT500 wing w gurney flap. I need to buy an outdoor car cover. Any suggestions??? im concerned w rear wing and front fascia clearance....

Thanks Anthony

Anthony: I have had some experience in the past covering a vehicle at the airport while I was on the road. Doing so saved the clear from the sun but, depending upon how windy it is in your location, the much heavier material of an outdoor cover CAN abrade the paint on edges that are rubbed by the wind and it doesn't matter how soft the lining of the cover is.

On top of that, the car has to be perfectly clean prior to covering which means there SHOULD be a wash prior to covering every time. You should not cover the car even after one, short drive as there will be contaminants on the paint surfaces.

Additionally, you'll want the cover to have grommets on either side below the doors so you can attach a line connecting both sides to keep the wind from blowing it off. You want STRONG elastic at the front and rear. I left the line attached to one side and just disconnected the other and stored the cotton rope with the cover.

I have had covers from Covercraft and Wolf, both were essentially identical, rougher gray outside, softer gray on the liner. I'd go with Covercraft if I were buying but remember, you do get what you pay for.

Finally, it is extremely important to keep the cover clean. A consumer-grade washing machine and dryer can handle it but it pushes the machines to their limits. A better eye deer is to go to a laundromat where the machines are much more powerful.

Good luck and don't forget photos when/if you get one. :-) We love photos.

If you have the base spoiler same that comes on the Mach 1 handing pack, then you can use the base model cover from ford. If you have the tall CFTP style wing you’ll need the cover for that model.

If I were buying now Monte, I would go with one of these.

Choice one

Choice two

As you will see, there are a couple "SHELBY" branded versions, one adds fifty bones to the price while "choice two" does not. Personally, I would probably spring for the extra bux and go with "choice one" but if that price is too high, I feel sure "choice two" will work as well.

What I don't know (and they don't say,) is whether these would fit over a rear wing but "probably." I'd call to be sure.

Good luck protecting your girl.
