Hey guys. I searched around and couldn't find anything addressing this issue directly. I own a 2019 PP1 stock suspension. I went and got AS tires put on this weekend. During this I discovered the front tires had severe camber wear. The outside was 7/32 and the inside were corded. I suspected alignment issues, so I got the car aligned. The alignment was within specs minus a small toe adjustment on the left side. Am I missing something? Is severe camber wear normal for the PP1? Should I take it to Ford? Thanks all.

IMHO its normal with MPSS and MP4S summer tires, and is probably a little tire dependent. I'm trying to experiment with running a bit more tire pressure to see if it helps on this set. I run more than stock camber, but we've seen other reports from stock GT and GT350 cars where they cord the inside edge early. As specific as this wear pattern is to the very outside edge of the tire, it feels like a tire design issue to me. Its not like the inside 1/3 of the tire is worn, just the shoulder there.

FWIW, on a heavy car like this, if you can get 18k miles on a set of summer tires you're doing great.

Keep a sharp eye on the toe settings. Any wear on suspension parts which might cause extra dynamic toe would accelerate this wear.

It is normal on PP1 cars. I have a 19 PP1 & noticed the wear at around 15,000 & managed to get the 25,000 out of the fronts before I changed. I put Firehawks on the front which I dislike due even though being factory size they are shorter than the PS4's & dont have a curb lip on the side wall so they "look" narrow on the rim. I was thinking about having some toe taken out of it to increase tire life.

i had 0 toe on my alignment with -2 degrees camber on both fronts

my left front tire corded. My right didn't but it was definitely on it's way to being corded. I got about 18k out of those tires.

I have since then fixed my camber to factory spec and got new tires so i'll see what happens.

How many miles on those tires? And what's the current negative camber? And the most important question for your situation is do you drive your car hard at all? When you do that, at least every once in a while, you more or less even the wear on the outsides. But with no hard cornering at all, you're wasting your tires with that much negative camber. If you're not going to enjoy the car in the twisties, the A/S tires will serve you much better... but also adjust the camber to your driving habits, so tires last longer. Good luck.

Don't know about tire wear but looking at my rears it does look like the bottom of the wheel sticks out further than the top. A little disconcerting.

It’s called negative camber and it’s normal

I’ll post a copy of the alignment specs. I do some spirited driving from time to time, but no track time. It’s getting too cold now so another reason I switched out to AS tires.

You answered your own question OP.

Toe is more detrimental to wear than Camber. Every car has a little bit of camber to help handling characteristics. Toe is what chews up tires fast.

However in a track/race set up you will want a little bit of toe. I typically run a 1/16" for sharp turn in.
Then again I'll tear through a set of SC2's in 2-3 track days and not bitch about it.
