Did you guys need camber bolts after you lowered your cars?
We have one alignment shop around town that can get my car on their ramps. Problem is they are VERY shady and will sell everything they can at a ridiculous price.

Sorry I don't have info on camber bolts.
But one piece of advice. If you feel a shop/business is shady run away and don't look back.

Read some of the aftermarket spring threads. Doesn't seem people are having issues with alignment/getting aligned for the most part. Depends a little on the amount of drop.

Sportline in the front with no camber bolts sits at =1.4, which is where I wanted it.

Camber is the last part of your alignment you should worry about. IMO there is no reason to use camber bolts at all. Any conservative drop(lowering springs, not adjustable coilovers) will give you a nice increase in negative camber which will improve handling and is definitely desirable. Camber doesn't wear out your tires, toe does that much much faster. -1.5 camber is still within factory specs even. I've been running at -1.7 degrees for 3 years with about 30,000 miles total over two sets of tires and none of them had uneven tread wear.

If you are planning an aggressive suspension setup it's a much better idea to get caster/camber plates so you can adjust the alignment to your liking.

Vorshlag is currently working on building some suspension needs from what I've seen. I think they were measuring for camber adjustment needs up front.

Thanks every one!

Find a new shop.
I have no choice, they are the only local shop that can get my car on their ramps. Next nearest reputable shop is 150 miles away.

Hopefully someone will make some adjustable upper strut mounts soon.

Sportline what in the front? Springs? You put Sportline lowering springs only in front? With no camber bolts? Since the Mustang looks higher in the front from factory, I think it would be a good idea to only lower the front... I was wondering if that's what you did.

"Camber" bolts . . . just say no.

Wait until proper camber or caster-camber plates are available. Maybe Steeda will release a camber-adjustable upper strut mount liked they did for the S197, which will probably be better suited to your lowering than an OE strut mount anyway.

FYI Specific to autocrossers in the SCCA Street class: The Ford service manual specifies widening the upper of the two strut to spindle/knuckle/hub assembly bolt holes in the strut by 1 - 2 mm "as needed" in either direction (more or less camber). The manual also indicates that the service replacement bolts/nuts are smaller diameter which may also allow a little bit more adjustment range. This might result in 2 to 2.5 degs of negative camber for cars on stock springs. Torque is 184 lb-ft.

It appears from the online fordparts.com that the new bolts/nuts are 16 mm. The bolts and nuts come in packages of 4 at a pretty reasonable price. Note that on S197 Mustangs driven hard (autocross, etc.) if the pinch bolt loosens it is only a matter of time before the spindle/knuckle assembly breaks at the struct mount location. Generally with significant $$$$ collateral damage to other parts, even at autocross speeds. The bolts need to be tight! If reused they need blue Loctite thread locker. Check often.

Thanks to following excellent advice I had no problem with my 2012 and don't expect any with my new 2015.

Thanks for the details and the review ↑↑↑ .

Ford's own approach to adjusting camber at the strut to knuckle attachment is the only Mustang use of "camber bolts" that I can endorse. There's nothing inherently wrong with adjusting it here, but the idea of using only half-strength bolts to save a little careful work gives me the willies.
