I really hope this thread doesn't go the way of most Camaro threads. I'm a HUGE Mustang fan, but I can appreciate any car. And this one is fantastic

Looks are subjective (personally, I think it looks superb) but it really does seem this one drives superbly, too. Plenty of power, great ride and handling.....a real driver's car.

This is a great time to be a pony/muscle car fan

I'm hoping it won't be long before we can compare this to an '18MY Mach1 ;)

Nice, honest, review there BmacIL. I'd certainly love to try one of these. I'm afraid, being a Mustang fanboy, I don't think I could ever buy one, but I'll never put one down just because it's "the enemy".....I've never understood that! This 1LE seemed to do very well in the Motor Trend Best Driver's Car. It saw off some very good opposition! These modern pony cars have come a long way since their re-introduction a decade or so ago. Back then, you'd never compare one to an M3, but now.....

Whilst it'd be good to see one go up against the GT350, if the Z/28 really is coming, I see that as being more of it's direct competitor.

Ideally, I'd like to see:

GT350 v Z/28
GT500 v ZL1
Mach 1 v 1LE

Of course, we still don't know if that Mach 1 is really coming but, if it is, I'd really like to see it positioned between GT and GT350. Take a GT PP and give it some GT350 goodies. Ideally give it a 5.2 CPC or, at least a 5.0 with another 30hp over whatever the '18MY GT has. Then dress is up in a modern take on the classic Mach 1 details

Ya no auto takes it off my list, I can drive a manual but with the new autos I won't buy a manual trans again. Shame too cause I really like the 1LE
