I've always had the mindset that a V8 belongs in a car like a Mustang or Camaro. I LOVE the sound and rumble of a V8. With that said I drove a GT and an Ecoboost. I thought the Ecoboost was much more fun to drive, hands down. The GT just felt big, heavy, and clumsy to me.

I know everyone probably gets tired of these threads but I wanted to put my 2 cents in after driving both today.

You're crazy
Certifiably.

Stay where you are, a large white van will soon be at your door. Two men will knock on your door. Go with them. They will give you a wonderful jacket and put you in a quiet, safe room.

You're crazy
I love your choice of colors, but some of us are in different places in what we're looking for. That doesn't make the OP or me crazy.

That's why there are three different motors sizes and a plethora of options.

Haha I love you guys on here. Just to clarify I'm not so much singing the praises of the Eco as much as I'm expressing my disappointment after driving the GT. I think it was just the heft and weight of the vehicle. Eco wasn't a huge improvement, although the front end loses about 200 lbs.

From power shifting test drive to picking up mine a week later, it has been GT no question, zero disappointment. We drove several cars and the S550 GT was the only car my 14 yr old said we had to get.

I have never felt like my GT felt "heavy" or anything of the sort.

Ok, you're crazy. I've owned a number of Mustangs over the years; 4 cyl, 6 cyl & V8. I'm so old that I've never considered that a Mustang MUST be a performance car or have a V8 to be enjoyable to drive.

Before we bought our current car, I went to 3 different dealerships and test drove an ecoboost & GT at each location on the same day to compare them. I thought that the ecoboost felt slightly quicker off the line but once you hit 3500 rpm, the GT takes off and leaves the ecoboost behind quickly. I was not able to detect a noticeable difference in the weight of the car.

I would be happy with either engine in the car. But I wanted the kona blue so the 50YLE GT was the only choice for me.

I had 2013 V6 before I got my 16 GT. The V6 was fun I could get it on it and have a little fun. I drove an EB and it felt about the same as the 6. Definitely not worth upgrading to. The GT on other hand is a completely different animal than the EB or 6. It's scary fun. You can't get thrown back in your seat with those at least not in stock form.

Funny how when people say they prefer Eco over GT they get called crazy, trolls, etc. It really shows how insecure some of these GT guys are with their cars and probably their masculinity.

My first mustang was a 2012 V6. Now I own a 2016 GT and will never go back to anything less than a V8. It's just so much fun.
