You can buy the CAI and tune online, intakes are super easy to install yourself and the only hard part for a tune is trying to get to the OBD port :D

Waiting
Go to power by the hour and custom tune with Ken Bjonnes. He's the man behind Lund racing tunes

If your set on not mail ordering it, If you can go right to the tuner. That's your best bet. Go right to power by the hour. Get it on the Dyno. No middle man.

Or if mail ordering is a choice, I'd recommend Livernois Motorsports and a jlt cai. 22hp with only a tune, 14 more hp with the jlt. Dyno proven on my car.

I'm local to Livernois, so it was a really easy choice. Imo, buy from the actual tuner, the hand held they use and tune. Hopefully that way it comes to you without you needing to update it as soon as you get it. Even if it costs a little more going direct to the tuner, the hassle saved is worth it.

PBH are great guys, but they too are a middle man just like us.

Lund Racing is a team, Jon Sr, Ken B, and Jon Jr. That's the great thing is they have a great knowledge base that contributes to their tuning.

If you want to pay for dyno time, and your local. PBH is a good choice. The tune will be no different though than ordering from me or another Lund Racing vendor though.

The cars have built in wide bands, and a dyno is not needed.

We do have a local dyno as well, for those that want one on the dyno in the area.

A canned etune couldn't be improved upon based on logging on a dyno (or from log files)?

If you are dyno tuning aren't you logging and dialing in things specific to that car and its environment? Things like the actual fuel being used (vs. just an octane rating), the actual altitude, how the car's exact mods (vs. just accounting for the type of mod) work, so on and so forth?

Genuinely curious here.

The tune isn't a canned tune, it's a tune built specifically your car and your mod

Tunes should be about perfect out of the gate, especially with adaptive learning on the fuel, but we can always datalog to verify, with built in wide bands, that can be done on the street with real world load

My 8.17 2011 car is tuned on the track primarily

That's where you get the best data

If you want to spend money on a dyno, there isn't anything wrong with that. It's just not needed with what we do

But, is it not a canned in the sense you have a tune that, while based on the mods I specify, is not based on my specific car and conditions?

i.e. does every person who says they have an intake and headers and 93 octane, get sent the same tune from you?

Data logging (whether done on the dyno or street) is what I was trying to get at and that there must be some benefit from logging?

We tune a variety of different cars, including the S550. We're also right in Pompano Beach - we have a dyno and some of the best tuners around:
