Probably because hearing the sound of a 4 cylinder turbo while driving a Mustang makes the ears bleed.
:D But, you are on the right track. The ANC cancels out the unpleasant "buzziness" of the I4 and road noises while re-enforcing the more pleasant sounds of the engine. I'm interested to see how it works.

Totally speculating, but I think Ford is positioning the EB for people that want an nice looking, nice handling, sporty car that don't necessarily care about it being a complete hot rod. They've added a few more creature comforts to make it more pleasing to drive.

(EDIT) After watching the video Zen25 posted above, What He is talking about at Time Mark 19:19 min is the Soundscreen Windshield I originally posted about. Evidently (According to the information in this video) the Soundscreen Windshield is part of the EcoBoost Premium Package.
Yes, you got it. Wonderful.
Saved me lot of time trying to search for it.

This was the video.
I got confused as I was trying to see a lot of them.

Great info on SoundScreen.

I love a nice quiet cabin and this definitely helps.

Sad part is I was trying to find ways to justify not getting Premium trim. But this does make me swing in that direction.

Ford is positioning the EB for anyone that previously would have picked the V6. That's it.

They are discouraging everyone but rental car places from buying the V6. But if you really want one they'll let you get one too. For a short time and without the fancy options.

i'm sure you'll enjoy the sound of the EB since your V6 will always be behind ;)
Behind? Friend first you should look ahead:

V6 proven made in Cleveland.

14 is a design Ford has never made before, and currently made in Spain.

There's a lot out there about other Ford EB having trouble, if you buy a i4 you will be a v6 more than you think.....as your loaner.

If that didn't help please get the extended warranty.

No offense, just a different perspective.

More HP, more TQ, forged internals leaving plenty of room for upgradability I'm gonna have to agree with geokots here.

Let's not start this. I was just playing around. We're all Mustang owners or fans. Plus it's an argument you'll lose.

How can anyone say that since nobody has driven or compared both models? We can't believe Ford because they are biased into pushing the ecoboost to make the V6 disappear. Remember they didn't get rid of the V6 for a better engine, just to make their global EPA go down... Put 5-6K on upgrades on both V6 (turbo kit) and EB (bigger turbo and tune) and both will outperform GT for less money (in Canada anyway).

I don't think swapping turbos on this vehicle will be as cost effective as you are suggesting.

This isn't the tread for this debate but I have a really hard time letting things go. :D

The V6 is dead in Ford's eyes. It's there as an entry level car with virtually no options and while it's available to anyone it's targeted as a fleet vehicle.

Aftermarket companies won't target it and instead will focus on the EB and GT.

5-6K upgrades for me is a pointless starting point as this will be my daily driver and won't be doing significant upgrades. I will play a little and for $1-2K the EB will be able to get a significant increase in performance. Reprogramming alone should help a fair bit. Who's going to do a flash for rental fleet?

I did consider the V6 for around 10 seconds until I saw the limited options. The Premium Package for me makes sense and eliminated the V6 right away.

I am not saying the V6 is a bad car. There are a lot of factors that people use for their decisions. For me, the EB was the better choice.

We are one family!

In the end, that's what's important.

Again. This discussion about "the bad I4 engine" can only come again from North Americans. Sorry to say that again. Somebody asked a question about the soundproof cabin and members starting again to capture the original post to get "OFF-TOPIC"!

I know a lot of people they actually drive cars WITHOUT a V-engine and they are happy. Ford is building this EcoBoost engines now quite a long time and I assume they now what they are doing to provide buyers of the EcoBoost Mustang a more luxury driving experience with the "SOUNDPOOF" glass for the reduction of noise.

Everyone who like to buy a BASE-model should know that he is buying actually BASE. Nothing more. I drove a 2005 BASE V6 convertible. And yes. It was BASE. No gimmicks. Everywhere hard plastic. I was happy with it. European cars have quite awhile soundproof futures. It is time that North Americans also look at quality, noise and MPG.

For people who like to have a GT V8 only for "the better sound" should get the BASE-model to have the good sound of the exhaust system.
People who drive the car not on a race track are maybe more happier with the EcoBoost like me. To get leather seats, I have to go with the Premium Package. I do get also the "Soundproof glass" to listen to my music... ;)

Don't start again to :threadjacked: this post. I am sure we have now read enough from members they do not LIKE the EcoBoost engine. We got your message! :paddle:

Would it come with heating? Or would that be an 'either-or' deal?
Both my (2006 and 2012) Focus hatchbacks came with standard heating in the front windscreen and I loved it.
