Golf R is not in the same category as EB, it is above that. Golf R competes with S3, Focus RS and WRX STI. Stock GT should beat all the above around the track or drag, although AWD with lighter weight will keep it close.
EB might be compared with GTI and WRX.
WRX has bit faster time on stock...
Why are S197 GT used ones so expensive.
I mean the S550 GT at invoice is 29K. Granted it is a base, but is has a lot more kit and has everything necessary.
I do not see a point in buying 2 year old used one for 25K when a new next gen model is 4K more.
New BMW M4 has produced much better performance with turbocharged engine compared to older E92 V8 M3. The new M4 demolishes the older one on track and drag. If Turbo works well for BMW, it should do well for Ford too.
I have a feeling the new 2015 Focus ST might get better time than EB despite...
Why is it underrated. Am I missing something.
The Dyno says 275bhp max, while specs say 310bhp.
328i curve posted is speced at 240bhp.
It does seem to touch it or even slightly exceed it.
Isn't BMW underrated and Ford rated correctly.
I guess it might be possible to cut down a wee bit without affecting daily drivability.
But for wholesale changes I think it is hard.
Unless some expensive carbon fiber parts or something comes in.
The car is just big, it is as big as Midsize family cars.
We were discussing in previous...
One good thing, the Dyno numbers make me happy.
279bhp to the wheels.
295lbft of torque all the way.
Ecoboost Engine defintely did not dissapoint.
AWD has edge in 0-60 runs. But EB should have smoked GTI and WRX in other categories. Quarter mile and lap times are more important.
150-200lbs...
Dissapointed. Blame the weight, good engines cannot overcome the weight.
MT has S550 GT slower to S197.
That does not seem good.
EB being on par with WRX & GTI, what about competing with 335i.
I think Focus RS would easily beat EB.
MT EB Review
If EB is on par with GTI and WRX, I think Focus RS needs to lot better to outgun Golf R, WRX STI, etc. Lighter weight might be the key.
Makes sense.
Here is a British engine in a performance super car.

McLaren Engine is just 3.8L V8 produces crazy power/torque in MP4-12C and just weighs less than 150kg.
Smaller engine in a smaller...
I meant 25K for just 3.55 gears not the whole PP.
The 19X9 black EB PP wheels might not be to everyone's liking and might not suit all the colors. Brake upgrade to 14" is good value though. But for less than 2 grand, it has lot of items and is VFM. The wheels are the biggest part of the package...
If S550 would be used as a summer car, heated seats might not be necessary (or if you prefer recaros/cloth over leather seats) and if there is a plan to upgrade audio anyway, base might start to make good option.
But I am surprised by lack of driving mode (Snow).
Line lock and launch control...
Would a small direct injected NA V8 be possible. Something under at or under 4L and get 400+hp out of it.
This can be twin turbo-ed in higher spec cars to make 650+ hp.
Is more smaller cylinders efficient than having larger cylinders.
Italian cars have always had V10 and V12 with lower volume...
S550 EB to beat out BMW 435i, that would be the benchmark I suppose for outright performance.
On the side note, 6MT should be as close as possible to slick Honda gearboxes.
Ride and Handling on par with German cars. Interior feel, quality, material wear - hope it is close to Audi. Reliable and...
I got the Fiesta booklet today with $750 coupon.
I was expecting Mustang one, but I got my second choice car.
The 1.0L EB is all over.
Its like Ford wants to use the fantastic engine for marketing and MPG showcasing.
But they don't really intend to sell it in big numbers.
Europe gets the cool...
