Yet another reason to avoid California. It's almost like they put up a sign saying leave and don't come back. Unreal.

It's what the people of California vote for, what they want.

The citizens of California have no one else to blame but themselves. If you want to live in a socialist utopia, that's what you're going to get.

The CA population is already decreasing for the first time in decades. They're making it too hard to do business here

The bigger issue is - if that does happen in CA, other States will follow.... and the Govt is going to push vehicle Manufacturers towards all electric by baiting them with huge incentives and tax breaks.

The writing has been in the wall for years but is now getting closer to being a reality.

CA is still going to exist in 2035? That's GREAT news!

All joking aside, I don't see anything in this order that actually bans any type of vehicle or emissions technology, probably because they want to avoid a legal battle for now, however, that legal battle will definitely come. The proposed rule would end the sales of all new gas powered cars and trucks in the state.

The used car market could be huge in CA because of this. Dealers will ship in a good amount more of used gas powered cars. It doesn't take affect until 2035, hopefully, by that time the technology will have gotten so much better.

Plus, the market is already moving more towards this anyhow. Yay for my TSLA stock!

Also, if I was living in CA I would be more worried about the warmest month of August in the last century. I guess you could think of it as one of the coolest months of August in CA in the next century tho.

Edit: I doubt this will happen by 2035, CA's electrical grid is horrible, they already have rolling black outs.

Apparently CA has comprehensive plans to solve their power grid issues over the next 15 years....

Certainly hope so but, as I'm sure you know, that is a lofty goal. Will people give up their gas cars and trucks? No way, not until the infrastructure, range, and price are way, way better and even then there is nothing wrong with wanting to still use your gas powered car. But this will likely speed that development up which is a great thing imo.

Moreover, many manufacturers understand that gasoline will not always be around, and that green hose gasses are an issue (cars being one of the lowest causes of it but I guess I'll concede some things.) These manufacturers are no longer making large capitol investments into the design of gasoline engines. They are looking at hybrid and full electric.
