Holy crap, the OCD is stunning. It's nothing you see when the trunk is closed, so who cares?

I can’t speak for others but I take great pride in my car and I would expect one that was bought new would look better than my current version. I’m not asking for perfection but something that is less unsightly than what I have.

I put a lot of work into my vehicles and I protect them to the best of my ability. Having unsightly gaps or panel issues might not seem like a problem for you but it is for some of us. To each their own.

Doesn’t seem unreasonable to me.

I know it sounds petty, but I'm like you CF. It's for sure no one can see it, and wouldn't notice it unless I showed them. But, dad-gummit I know it's there and my OCD will not let me forget it's there. But, do be careful in your decision. As stated you don't want the dealership's body shop to make it worse. Good luck.

As an aside, when I inspected mine upon arrival at the dealer, I noticed the hood wasn't lined up properly. It was too far to the right, so I showed it to my sales guy. He smiled and said, " I knew you would want that corrected". I've dealt with them for nearly 30 years, and they know me quite well. :)

I am with you, my OCD runs wild. Hopefully I can get it resolved or at least better than what it is now. Unfortunately in my area the Ford dealers are a mess of hot garbage. They send you to other places or downright refuse to fix things. It's honestly a S*** show. When I bought the car I drove 2.5 miles to get a dealership that wasn't a piece of work. I may have to go back there but it's 2.5 hours each way so I am trying to avoid it. I know they will take care of me. Hoping for an update from corporate tomorrow as they said they would call me then.

I thought this was going to be about this other kind of bumper/fender gap, which a few of us have:

My 18' convertible has the exact same bulge on the passenger side. This is the only body fit issue I have noticed.

I have that issue also. One of the dealers fixed it and then it popped out again a few weeks later. Every car in the showroom had it.
