Bullitt Rim Cracking

Hey guys just wanted to know if anyone else has come across this. It looks like there’s a thin layer of hard plastic on the edge of the rim and has started to crack off? Or is this some kind of transport protection that was never removed?

A few weeks ago I went out to start my Bullitt and it was dead. I used a power pack to jump start it and it fired right away. However, the infotainment screen was black and there was nothing I could do to get it to turn on. I took the car on a 40 minute drive to the doctor’s office and shut it off. About 25 minutes later, I returned to the car and tried to start it. Click, click, click is what I heard. I hooked the power pack back up and jump started it again. Thankfully this time, the infotainment was working again. I’m sure the battery needs to be replaced. I will be doing that in the coming weeks once I start driving the car regularly. What a PITA with only 5K miles on the odometer.

Normal. Mine failed within 2 years. The production line batteries are not as good as the Motorcraft factory replacement.

A wheel restoration place can fix that pretty quickly. Take off the old clearcoat and re-apply

That happens when the clear gets chipped ever so slightly and water creeps underneath.

You should not call residents of Florida little critters, they don't like that.

And yeah thats the clear-coat shedding, shouldn't that be a warranty thing? It doesnt appear to have had a rough night with a curb.

You can get them stripped then powder coated any custom color for about 100 a wheel at most powder coat shops. Powder coat is very durable.

If you're still under the 3 year bumper to bumper, you can get the dealer to replace the battery for you. Same for the wheel issue in the OP, that should be covered under warranty.
