I can't imagine how that can happen. Is it just one side?

Looks like the elements got trapped behind the mount and weakened the metal which eventually resulted in the failure. I will probably spray mine with some white lithium grease to serve as a barrier from the elements. This should not have happened in the span of 5 years though.

Were your strut mounts OE ?

Not to start a shit storm - but some of the aftermarket mounts got a reputation for putting an undue amount of stress into the body resulting in that type of failure.

What about your suspension set up ? All OE ? Or stiffer / upgraded etc ?

The mounts look like they got ripped out downwards. Could be that the shocks are not adjusted correctly and bottom out before the suspension reaches its lowest point. In the end it looks exactly like in your pictures.

I assume coil overs feed all the stress of the spring AND the damper though that mount then ?

Pedders Extreme have the same setup as the stock suspension in the rear. So damper and spring are separate and only the force of the damper goes into the mounts.

So the nuts wound up breaking off all together. This was once I pulled the shock off and once I tocuked the nuts they fell off. Is there a replacement plate or something?
