Does it matter if the notches on the front strut mounts face the engine (see picture) or does it have no affect on the suspension whichever way it goes back? Some here are saying it needs to be like the picture or it will throw off caster/wheel position, and some are saying it doesn't matter at all.
No one seems to have a confident answer.
I want to be sure I'm not throwing off caster, wheel positioning, or intended ride height by not putting these back correctly after lowering springs.
FYI, the strut mounts are NOT like the picture currently meaning the orientation of the notches did not come this way from the factory.
Another s550 owner has also confirmed that a few other mustangs on the lot did not have their factory struts like the picture, the notches were in random directions.
So does it not matter or did some people not care enough to install them properly at the factory?
I personally don't see how the notches would matter or change the positioning of the strut... there's no offset in the hole and its flat.
The studs to center hole are all the same distance.
