I drove my mustang into Tijuana, Mexico. (My gfs car wasn't working so we had to take mine)

I must have broke every neck in the city. At one stop light a taxi driver rolled his window down and in Spanish asked me if I wasn't embarrassed. I replied why? And he said driving such a *uckin ugly car.

Me and my gf just laughed hahaha. He then gave me the proper compliments and asked what year it was and other stuff. He was pretty funny though!!!

He wasn't breaking his neck but a guy in a DIB EB had circled my car a few times in the parking lot as I was walking out of the store. My wife was in the car and said she thought he was stalking the car. He was on the phone with his wife when he waived me down. He said she is telling me not to stop and look at it. We laughed and had a small conversation and went our own ways.

Took my 8yo son to Sweet Tomatoes restaurant today after his doctor's appointment. When we went to leave, we started to climb in with the top down. As I was closing my son's door and walking to my side, a group of what I think was Japanese men was coming out of the restaurant. They started chatting quickly among themselves and pointing in the direction of my car. I could hear, through the mixture of Japanese and English, that they were saying "Nice car to take to the beach! Top down!!". As I climbed behind the wheel, they were coming to the car next to mine which I think was theirs (there was an empty space between) and they started saying "Oh, 5.0. 5.0. see there, 5.0!" Fired it up and gave a blip of the throttle and the talking quickly increased, and I could hear as I pulled out they were saying "FIVE POINT OOOHHH" over and over with big smiles on their faces. They were still standing in the same spot chatting and pointing when I went around the corner and out of sight. My son was cracking up about it... :)

I think they had a five-point-orgasm.

I was drying my car off at the car wash last weekend and had an older fella in an extremely nice '57 Chevy pull out of the bay's and shoot a quick glance over. He then went about 10 feet, stopped, and had his head hanging out the window staring and gave me the thumbs up. Ended up coming over and checking out the Mustang and had a great chat for about an hour. Third time I have had guys at the car wash come over and compliment the car and talk cars for a good while. Makes for a great early Saturday morning :)

Everyone waves here in the Texas Hill Country to fellow Mustangers. But it might be that there are so few of us around. When driving topless, I do get the feeling that some people wave and think, "What's that Old Dufus doing driving a teenager's car?". Happens almost daily. Kinda funny though.

Yep, im starting to get that way too. I passed a CO 5.0 on my way into work this morning and i didnt even bother to lift my hand off the wheel. Chances are, its someone who could care less and is the opposite of a car "enthusiast."

Don't give up on the wave!
If they are actually paying attention, they'll start to wave back. If you're not used to being waved at it is strange at first. But keep doing it and they'll start waving... if they are paying attention. And if waving is uncomfortable, flash your lights.

Yup...me too. I have realized most people only look for The Badge, and completely ignore a friendly face. After awhile I kinda felt stupid about waving.:headbonk:

Now I just blow past 'em. ;)

There aren't that many around where I live. Surprising since they are made in my state and 40 minutes from my home but anyways, since I bought mine I've only seen sbout 3 or 4.. I'll give a few more acknoledgements a try, but within a year I assume to end up seeing a ton of these, as around here it's very common to see any person (young, old, men and ladies ) driving S197's

The night I bought my car back in November, it was funny to see all the salesmen surrounding the car, all excited and congratulating me (usually the salesman who scored gets all of the congrats, ha). Some of them would chime in, showing me the various features. I have not experienced that before. It was like some sort of party.

Every time I go in for service, a salesman or other employee has something nice to say about it, even though they are surrounded by these things all day long. They stare (drool?) at it when I drive up.:p
