Hello guys,
My new 350R was produced on 6/2/20 (i.e. soon after the factory reopened) and I picked it up last week with only 6 miles on it.
1) From the time I first started it up until now (about 190 miles on it), it has been making a really annoying metallic clinking/ringing noise from the passenger side of the car. Several of my friends have noticed it both sitting in the car and standing outside of it. The noise begins at about 1500rpm and then ends a little before 2000rpm, hot or cold. I found some threads about the orange exhaust dampers being loose but mine seem tight and are mounted differently than the ones others have pictured. I poked around at the exhaust heat shield and bent it slightly away from the chassis and also pulled the passenger side front brake dust shield a fraction of an inch away. I could not really find anything loose.
2) Also I am now noticing that when I turn the engine off, it makes a metallic sort of clunk. Almost like an old car 'dieseling' for a split second.
I have taken a video of both noises but it seems to be too big to post here. I will try to figure something out. Here are pictures of my orange exhaust dampers. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
UPDATE July 4th 2020: loose to the touch passenger side O2 sensor. Tightened it up and problem #1 seems fixed.
Thank you!
