I think I just may do it!
would be interested in your thoughts and results if you do this. I think the gt350 is slightly wider than the gt...not sure if this might be an issue? A good exhaust mod shop might be able to make it work.

Do it! I had a Spintech side exit on a fox body. Sounded great and made the cracks and pops really stand out..

Interesting concept, do you think you have room for side exhaust as low as the cars sit? Mine is on FRPP springs and I couldn't see how this would work. Will keep an eye on the thread for updates.

Alan, the pictures almost make it look like it's tucked up about even with the sideskirt extensions given the oval piping. If so you'd only see a slight reduction in clearance. Less than half an inch possibly.

Different car, but my friend's boss (that these came stock on), was on coil overs, and had no issue with this

1814GT350's exhaust on the Fox body will sound completely different for several reasons. Different engine and the mufflers, if any, are in front of the axle. Sound's bitching though.

What this thread is talking about is the Boss style mid pipe that also had a side exhaust exit, while retaining the back exit exhaust

I plan to fab up a side exit exhaust system for HB. Apparently it's not loud enough and I need a clear win over the Aston Martin GT4 race car at COTA. :bandit:

In all seriousness, I want to dump the heavy mufflers and create room for 2 oil coolers in the spare tire well. Will delete the mufflers, add the coolers, and then put a big nasty diffuser back there. Exhaust will come out in front of the rear tires. Plan to use Vibrant's oval exhaust tubing.

Iā€™m going to do a bit more research on the undercarriage and see if there are any differences, but from what I can tell now theyā€™re identical. If thatā€™s true, Iā€™m 100% going to pull the trigger on this.

It is only slightly wider at the front fenders. From the front door back the GT350 dimensions are functionally identical to all other mustangs all the way down to the ecoboost.

Yes, but if there are mounting points on the chassis that can be used for that exhaust, it would reason that the GT350 would have those same mounting points as the chassis mounting points are identical across all of the Mustang models in that particular area.

Realistically the only area where there may be an issue is at the front and end of the primary exhaust path. I can't say for certain if the GT and GT350 collectors converge in the same area, have the same diameter, and share the same spacing to allow this to be a true bolt-in or cut/clamp experience. There may need to be slight modifications made to allow for those slight variances.

Did anyone try this or planning to in the near future?

I am waiting for someone to pull the trigger. If I do I know before we even start, there will need to be some modifications to fit a GT350. A custom exhaust shop probably could make it work. I would bet the sound would be glorious, especially at the track or a mountain drive.
