Borla vs Corsa Interior Volume

Just a quick question for those that have either had or heard both systems in person. I'm currently running the Borla S-type axle backs and while they sound great, they are a little too intrusive in the cabin for me during longer trips on the interstate. While there is no drone, they are noticeable at anything above 1800 rpm. If they stayed quiet to about 2300 rpm everything would be golden.

I'm looking at replacing them with the Corsa touring axle back. Is the Corsa quieter than Borla during cruise? If so, by how much? Thanks in advance.

I'm almost sure that the corsa touring is significantly quieter overall than the S-type. Probably too quiet for my taste, if you still have the resonator.

Isn't he s type axleback (with the stock resonator) about the same volume as the borla touring? I have a corsa sport catback (same mufflers as the touring, plus double x) and it is dead silent inside he car unless I'm higher than 2500rpm, even then it is really quiet unless I'm stomping the gas

That's what I started with. Then went back to using the stock resonator. I know it is the quietest cat back, but becomes audible inside at too low of an rpm for me.

Yes, only difference is whether you are using the factory resonator or Borla resonator. That's why I'm leaning towards replacing with Corsa, I've read that it is quieter during cruise than Borla, but just looking to gather as many opinions as possible.

Borla touring and stype axlebacks are the same mufflers. S type catback has an x pipe vs touring catback the resonator. I m surprised the OP thinks the axle backs are loud, i had the touring catback and they were maybe a little louder than stock. The OP might have a hole or something going at the stock resonator or pipes.

That's what makes finding an exhaust so challenging to me. What I consider to be a loud exhaust, others will think is too quiet. I'm just trying to find the setup that works best for me. I know a lot of people say that the S-type catback or Corsa sport catback are perfect for DD, but I'm pretty sure those would be too loud for me personally.

I'm hopeful that someone can chime in that has either heard both the Corsa and Borla systems in person or has owned both. That way a solid comparison can be made. I'll probably end up ordering the Corsa touring axleback regardless, but I like to get as much info as possible before ordering anything.

My $0.02... I can notice my Corsa Sport at cruise (75-80mph, 3.73 gears on a PP so above 2k RPM) but it's not drone-y. It's a very subtle sound to let me know it's still there, but hardly noticeable. I don't think it's noticeable enough but my fiancé claims it's "totally noticeable"

Basically: I think that Ford should have shipped the GT to market with a Corsa Sport-like exhaust from the factory. In my opinion it's essentially silent at cruising speed and I actually wish it was a little more aggressive.

All that being said, I think the corsa sport = corsa touring axelback + x-pipe ... so if you retain a factory resonator and put the corsa mufflers on i'd imagine it would be even quieter than what I have and therefore would make you pretty happy.

The Corsa Touring axleback will be hardly louder than stock at light throttle with the windows up. I have the Sport axleback, which is a decent bit louder than the Touring, and at constant speed in 6th it's just as quiet as stock. With some throttle you can hear it, but it's subtle unless you downshift and give it the beans (and then it's very much there, but never overpowering).

Good plan! A friend of mine has the S-type catback, and while the exterior volume of our cars is pretty similar, mine is quite a bit quieter inside. The muffler design just makes almost all the sound go out the back instead of permeating through the trunk and cabin. At WOT there is very full sound coming from behind you, though. The Touring will be pretty subdued but will make a good noise when you want it to.

A FRPP touring could just bolt on without any cutting.
