Yes they connect at a shallow angle and it makes a football shapes connection inside the X pipe
Interesting, so it narrows down a little. The FRPP one looks ugly with the weld work but a solid looking cross flow design.

And honest, in my convertible I was impressed by how perfect the S type is for my taste. Not even just the note but the volume in the convertible is great. Barely audible at highway steady state speed but any gas and you can hear it although subtle. At 85 or so on the highway with 3.55 gears you are turning around 2,250 rpm and you can definitely hear it but it is not drone in any way and it can easily be talked over or drowned out with the radio and that's with a soft top vert.
WOT is descent lt loud but it's not obnoxious at all. It's not as loud as my friends Roush with X pipe at all and not raspy at all like the Roush.

And that video must have been with the worst phone microphone ever because that high pitch farty pop is NOT what mine sounds like at all. On throttle flyby and roll away like that sounds more like a deep roar

Best recorded sound is on Borla's videos on youtube. They do an amazing job with their product videos. Stock vs their own. The videos include take off, inside cabin, rear bumper, driver side outside fender, and a fly by. Borla for the win.

I had the freaking kit, I know what it sounds like.
I understand that and was in no way trying to be confrontational but informative. If mine sounded high pitched and metallic rasp pop like that I would be checking connections and calling Borla

I have the borla touring and it's perfect. I didn't even consider a setup without a resonator. I think the cars sound like garbage without them

2nd that, Borla touring is perfect! Anything without resonator will make cabin noise loud

Sorry guys, i have the touring and will have it back during winter but its way too tamed. Borla turned this lion into a cute kitten. Can't wait to install my x pipe this Friday and unleash the beasty again. I can still tame her with my foot but when i want her to roar all hell will break loose:headbang:

I just put the x pipe on my borla touring system. No more resonator, and let me tell you the sound is insane. Its only loud when you get on it. Cruising and gentle take offs are pretty quiet. I am officially a borla stype lover now.

Glad you love the sound! How was the FRPP X-pipe fitment with the Borla system? Any issues?

I had to cut some back portion of the x pipe to fit it to the catback. It comes pretty long. Also when i called Borla regarding the stype mid pipe, they told me that they dont sell the pipe separately. They also insisted that their resonator on the touring system to be an x pipe, but i can prove them wrong. It is a straight trough design with a connection in the center, making it an H Pipe. The frpp version of the x pipe is definitely a true x pipe with cross flow.

A side note here: This combination makes the exhaust pop and gurgle. Some people may find it annoying but i think its beautiful. You rev it and release your foot of the gas and the car just makes some symphony for your ears. At WOT though, its pretty darn loud. If the Borla touring with the resonator was a 5 at WOT, I ll give this one an 8.

gonna be very close,

if you have thoughts of adding lts or a resonator later, i would lean towards the touring if you don't want to get too crazy

How loud is the sound on cruising and gentle take offs compared to your set-up with the resonator? I have the S-type AB with stock resonator and planing to install FRPP x-pipe, but still wish a pretty quiet sound when I want to.
Cruising is almost the same as the touring but takes offs are totally different. You can hear the rumble more, in the touring you hear more of the engine wine. It sounds amazing on take offs. However i will definitely change it back to touring during winter. The start ups are pretty loud though. I dont want to wake up the neighbours.
