Boosted Mach 1 on E85; Forgot How Much E It Drinks!

If you got a aftermarket E85 fuel setup and over 900 rwhp; don’t assume you will make it to the nearest E85 gas station which is not so near. This shit burn faster than you think and the miles to empty is not as accurate as you think.

I did coast into the pumps. Couldn’t have cut it any closer… Do you know the capacity of our fuel tanks? Guess…

Then I clicked it off one more time for good measure.

I concur, I actually feel like the only thing bad about this car is the fact it’s on E85. I hate not been able to drive it out of town.

Just to think, you research and call ahead to check if they got E85 on your route just to get there in the backwoods and the delivery man ain’t filled up the E!!! Or the dumb ass person answering the phone did understand E85 vs Desil.

...So how bad is your fuel mileage? My NA Mach 1 w/ Tremec is at 10 mpg and my son's NA 2022 GT w/10R80 was at 15 mpg. (Both Wengerd E85 Tunes) I'm hoping to get my car on the track, soon, so I suspect I'll need plenty of refills.

So looks like you are running flex, not actual E85... what fuel system do you have and who's your tuner?

I’m not running a Flex Fuel tune. I have a plain ole E85 tune with the car making about 900rwhp. There is no Flex at all. I have to flash another tune in it for 93 octane. Additionally, with this amount of boost, my tuner does not recommend running 93 pump at all.

I have haven’t had a chance to really put it on the road to see in one shot how far I can drive with this setup on E85.

My best guess is 220 miles from what I notice without racing the car on one tank.

However, how can I not race it when you are riding around and shit like this happens all the time to me in the Mid West. Just happened today unplanned from my Passport Escort 360cam radar detector…

I guess they haven’t figured out how to set up boost limits that work with flex in the stock logic. Works amazing.

They had a flex tune years ago and then stop offering it.

That’s probably because they couldn’t figure out the fuel line volume issue. Hpt still hasn’t defined the parameters needed to fix that, last I checked.
