The vacuum tree port for the booster only gets vacuum not boost. That’s why I said if it is the brake booster hose it will not work. That is not the brake booster port being used. in both pictures it is not the booster port.
Makes sense.

I did a bit more research. I just ordered the TurboSmart Boost Reference adapter that goes on right after the throttle body. It’ll give a port for the gauge and for a water/meth kitfor her car in the future

I chose a double pilar pod from autometer and put the whipple mechanical boost gauge in the top and made a custom adapter for the nGauge on the bottom slot. Both are eye level for quick glance.
Going to use the auometer led dimmer source that supplies a pwm output specifically for gauges.

Same as @Kona 18 for me but with a mechanical Cobalt gauge. I designed/printed my own gauge holder to I could have it angle towards me for better viewing.

most current gauges are LED based and since our cars are PWM? controlled it is more difficult than old days of tapping into the "dimmer" wire behind the dash.

My gauge had 3 wires: power, ground and dimmer. If you leave the dimmer wire disconnected the LED will just be at 100% based on the switched 12v signal you get from the passenger side kick panel with a "add-a-fuse" kit.

I later purchased the AUTO METER 9114 LED Lighting Dimmer kit from amazon which takes 12v switched and outputs a variable signal with a separate dial on the dimmer device. It does not give much variability but just enough to tone down the blinding output it had initially.

If you use the same dimmer device to dim multiple gauges, just keep in mind the brightness between vendor gauges will vary so one setting on the dimmer kit may still have different intensities on the multple gauges you feed it with. I only needed to feed one gauge so not an issue.
