So I was getting ready to install my cradle support and was hoping to pull it off without an alignment by keeping some of the bolts tight. After removing one of the large bolts I saw that my cradle is not centered very well at all. The bolts look to be shifted to almost the worst non centered positions. Guess I will be needing an alignment after all. Figured I was going to order some of those Steeda centering pins and re do it when I get some more time. I was kind of confused on where to support and jack the cradle. Seems the only way to really center a jack under there would be to lift right on the differential, but didn't know if that would work very well. Where do you guys lift and support the cradle. I was looking and saw the harbor freight cross beam thing that attaches to a floor jack and am considering buying it to support the cradle on the beams left/right of the diff. Anyone used one of these or have a suggestion on where to lift/support the cradle.
Another question, if I do end up installing the Steeda pins, in theory, would I ever need to have the rear aligned again after any other mods down the road. Kind of thinking that it would be fixed and shouldn't ever need an alignment after the cradle is centered?
Thanks for any suggestions/comments.
Thanks.
