Car was towed to ford last night. I'd much rather it be something along those lines than a transmission or clutch. What leads you to believe that it's a half shaft or driveshaft?Jack up the back and spin the tires by hand and listen. It sounds like a halfshaft or driveshaft failure to me.
That was my whole initial theory, the brakes never disengaged thus why the car would barely let me creep forward after aborting the LL. As soon as the car jumped forward I let off the throttle and put the clutch down. The thing is, if the brakes were dragging, why would I be able to push the car smoothly in neutral? Is the squeal from the front or rear? It does sound like your brakes are still engaged therefore dragging and making the noise.
Sounds to me like when you launched forward during line lock and you aborted it, the brake system did not fully disengage. From my limited knowledge of the LL feature, only the front brakes are fully applied so one care freely spin the rear wheels.
Ah...missed that part. I've never tried LL, doubt I ever will even though I am sure it is safe to do so 110% percent. I've got my fingers crossed hoping everything works out! I guess the transmission warranty is not voided due to the clutch since they didn't touch the internals of the transmission during the clutch swap. At least, that's my assumption.Nice!
Did you tell the SA about using the LL when it happened?I've got my fingers crossed hoping everything works out! I guess the transmission warranty is not voided due to the clutch since they didn't touch the internals of the transmission during the clutch swap. At least, that's my assumption.
Negative. I backed out of it so fast I didn't even get a burnout. Start to finish was sub-3 seconds.Did you tell the SA about using the LL when it happened?
I was about to say...too short of a duration me thinks. Whatever broke probably would've reared its ugly head on a hard launch from a stoplight.Negative. I backed out of it so fast I didn't even get a burnout. Start to finish was sub-3 seconds.
Amen. Now I'm anxiously awaiting the verdict. They said they had a tough time even moving the car off the tow truck. HahaI was about to say...too short of a duration me thinks. Whatever broke probably would've reared its ugly head on a hard launch from a stoplight.
