Just because you don't like the answer doesn't mean we missed the point. You're not an engineer. Don't mess with stuff you didn't design unless you know the full consequences.

Just because others in the past have blocked theirs 'without issue' doesn't mean something negative won't happen.
I think you missed the point again :D:D

If you had bothered to read what I posted I said I rely upon aftermarket to do the proper engineering to compliment or enhance the car. Or rather I rely on companies I trust to do the proper engineering.

The vents are also aerodynamic aids. They reduce pressure in the engine compartment by allowing air to escape.

And that's all fair and good, I agree with that. But if you find something that doesn't seem right would you ask them about it? Companies are people too, they can make mistakes and oversight happens. Trust what you see and if it seems off, ask someone. Nothing ever gets fixed by hopes and dreams.

I have been worried about the same issue, I have been wanting to pull the trigger on a Steeda Intake and Tune bundle for a couple weeks now, but I'm afraid of the water that will get in it when I leave it parked outside all day during rain storms and during the trips to a car wash.

I've had my Steeda intake on for months with zero issues. It's been through downpours, snow, ice and me blasting water at the hood during car washes. Some of you are a little paranoid :D.
Well seeing that video in the first post made me a little paranoid... :-)

And yet NO ONE that I have ever heard of has had issues resulting from it. Prove me wrong though.

CAI installed. One advice: install the rubber insulation liner first, before putting the box in the car (don't ask how I know that :-D)

For the time being the hood vent is open, I am thinking of taping it down while the car is being washed...
