I've had this happen 3 times now. I've had people flash their high beams on me when I put the brakes on. Apparently they think I'm somehow "flashing my brights" on them with the tail lights. Sorry dudes, better write to Ford about getting blinded - I have no control over the brake lights!

Anyone else have this happen? The brake lights are pretty damn bright for sure, so I can see how a few people might get all irate when they get blinded by them.

Lol I've told several ppl to look at my trunk panel at night time just so I could hit the unlock button and cause temporary blindness. It's one of my favorite features actually

I'd rather have bright brake lights that gets and keeps people's attention from rear ending me.

I guess if it bothers some Mustang owners that they are too bright they can always put some tint on them.

My stereo installer commented on them but that was it. I agree they are pretty bright, but I like it that way. I sometimes get the flash for my headlights and/or foglights, though...but it's pretty rare.

Wish the backup lights were a lot brighter, though. Can't see a damn thing when backing out at 5:30 am and find myself using the camera more than I would like. At least no one is around at that hour.

May want to check out Diode Dynamics reverse LED bulb. I personally think it's a bit brighter than the factory bulb. I almost forgot how the rear view camera looks with the factory bulb lol.

But yeah I agree with everyone else. I didn't notice how bright the tail lights were until I went to show my grandfather the car at night and I unlocked the car for him to see the pony projections. We both commented on how bright the lights are, and I also hope it stops some idiot from tailgating and/or rear ending me.

I put a LED backup bulb in. It's great if your using the back up camera but if your looking over your shoulder the brake lights still overwhelm the back up light.

Got flashed for just my regular headlights once already, tapped my highbeams to let him know it wasn't even half as bad as it could be.

All the lights on this car are pretty bright, but I tend to think that's more of a positive than a negative. I feel safer in a lot of situations because of it.

Yep, has happened before.

Was walking up behind my car, to get in it at night. Unlocked it and the brake lights flashed.....caused me to stumble a bit. Very darn bright.

I made a post like this awhile back. When I hit the brakes and look out the passenger window, everything is red. Also at another stop sign, I look in my rear view mirror and every reflective sign is lit up. Also have to force myself to look away when closing my trunk. lol

Never noticed. Mine were tinted within 24 hours of taking delivery of the car. The DD LED backup bulbs work great in lighting the area directly behind the car.

they dont seem to keep people from running into many on here, this takes care of the extra bright lights

Have that on mine and doesn't do much to dim down the brightness at night. Noticeable during the day if its in a shadow but at night, still has the same blindness potential at night as if the tint wasn't there lol
Same for the reverse light if you have the LED bulb from DD
Oddly enough, I've never had the situation that OP has had with people flashing from behind
