Lund specifically told me they do not adjust sport mode options.

Getting kind of annoyed with constantly being told no by Lund but reading that other tuners willing to personalize tuning options for owners.

What's the point of free updates for life of the tuning device if you're unwilling to actually make updates or changes.
Steeda (matt) was completely unwilling to make any adjustments to the terrible shifting I was getting with their tune. When he stopped returning emails I gave up and flashed the sct tune which shifts way better. I was very disappointed in the "lifetime" tune with zero customization.

Do you have the engine breaking in s still?

So I've been emailing Sean from aed, he's said he is willing to disable the engine breaking in s mode. This will be a dream come true if it works out. I can't believe how many popular tuners have been unable to do this!

I'd like to know what you mean by engine braking. Are you referring to the aggressive down shifts in S when slowing down or the actual engine braking that occurs when the converter is locked at a higher rpm and being off the throttle?

Yeah I may not be using the correct technical terms lol. It's when in s mode (without having used the paddle shifters) and you slow down, the engine or whatever is doing it, downshift into the lower gear at high rpms causing the car to lurch from deceleration. It's like what happens if you were driving a manual and downshift as you coast to slow down to avoid using the brakes. Maybe there's some practical use for it, but I don't care what it is and I want it gone lol.

If I'm reading him right, the equivalent of downshifting a manual to slow down? If so, I do like having that as it acts like a manual without me engaging a clutch. The only problem I have is when downshifting from 3rd to 2nd, it doesn't engage like it does in every other gear (when downshifting any other time it engine breaks almost immediately just like a manual...except from 3rd to 2nd...frustrating as I want it consistent across the board like a manual). Before anyone says "you should've got a manual", I have bad knees so that's why I went A6 this time.

EDIT: took too long for me to post so ignore my first sentence.

I know what you are talking about, and my car has the same issue when downshifting into 2nd. It typically only happens when downshifting lower in the RPM range. I think what's happening is the torque converter is disengaging the transmission. So I think what we are feeling is the torque converter. That I am not sure if tuners can fix. It might be a characteristic of the mechanism that causes this to happen.

I would like to know also so please update this thread if you find out the cause/solution. I'm going to ask Lund also and see what they say.

Then why not just use D? Not being a smart ass but that sounds like what you want is normal D driving with perhaps stronger shifts when accelerating and better throttle sensitivity? Lund or Livernois and others do that pretty much by default.

Then use S when you want to paddle shift.

I had lund give me a tune with the stock trans tuning. for street driving it's nice. i don't need it to hit hard all the time.

running livernois now with their OTS 91 sport tune for auto's. The power is there and shifts hard at WOT and soft at part throttle which i like.

However....it's not locking the converter correctly under part throttle (normal acceleration). I can feel it shifting gears from 2-5 but the rpm's stay at 1800 to 2000 the whole time. Feels like a CVT. Plus it upshifts far too soon and is unwilling to downshift unless i go pretty aggressive on the throttle input. this is in D or S.

I've emailed them and am waiting for a response but I'm surprised i'm the only one with this issue.
I have this issue too. I need to call them about it. Say I am driving in traffic in sport mode at 40mph, and the car is in 4 gear at 3000RPM, holding that gear, if traffic speeds up and i hit the gas just to keep up with traffic, it will up-shift, I feel it should hold that gear and increase RPM's, but it up-shifts at the slightest increase in throttle. Makes no sense. Purpose of it holding the gear at higher RPM's is for the power....it should not upshift when I barely hit the pedal to keep up with traffic. Who did you speak with over there?

I do not use D because I want to hear the engine.

Couple of them but I have talked to Jon.

I seem to remember it doing that with the factory tune but can’t remember now.
