So I mainly use my gt for spirited back road driving. And in my area most of the roads are extremely curvy. Right now I'm running the stock all season 235s which are surprisingly good. I'm thinking of upgrading to a 275 square stance. Maybe some mickey Thompson summer comps.

Is 275 square the best tire setup for cornerning grip? Staggered setups are really designed for good straight line acceleration right?

Thanks!

I would go at least for a 10" wheel and 285 tires. The Mustang is rather big and heavy, and needs a lot of tire.

In theory, go as wide as you can, which would include wider rear tires simply because they will fit. But you have to tune your setup to make them work, and not just give you more understeer.

The GT350 staggered setup works really great on the road course and the streets.

Fronts are 295 and rears are 305. If you can fit them on your car I would go with that.

Best setup for cornering is a square setup. 275 square is a really good choice only being inferior to a 285 square

I vote for a 275-40R19 square set up on 9.5" wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot $uper $ports.

How many miles do you drive each year?

A 19x10 square setup with 285/35R19 RE71R tires on some lightweight wheels will out-handle the Pilot Super Sports. I've got both :)

Pirelli PZero after 2 Sessions

This was my PZero's after 2 20 minute sessions at The Ridge Motorsports Park. Grip was a 6/10. I wouldn't get them for track day. Moving on to dedicated tires soon from Hoosier.

If you are going to spend a lot of times in the corners, I would stick with a square setup. Unless you have an unlimited budget for tires. Being able to rotate your wheels around the car helps longevity.

I have factory GT350 wheels/tires on my base GT and it handles amazing. Great turn in and little understeer. Haven't had it on a road course yet though

can't speak to your setup, but the GT350 feels like its understeering long before it runs out of actual front grip.

Also use camber plates.

Don't waste your $$$ on the MT street comps, mine were so bad I took em off early. If handling is important to you, you will hate em.
