Whats the best lug nut solution that fits the socket properly and doesnt have the play and chances of getting stuck? One of these days i m going to have to drill these buggers out. Or should I keep buying oem ones and call it consumable?

Gorilla here as well on the 350. In fact just replaced the stock lugs on the wifes MKC today due the issue with them in the sticking socket

The factory lug nuts are covers stamped or formed over the steel nut. The will deform over time and stick in the socket.

Oh ok. Why not just thread the nut back on the stud a couple turns and move the socket around to loosen its hold on the nut?

Yes that works initially.
Plenty here remove their wheels quite a bit for whatever reason. The OE lug nuts are pretty bad with the beauty covers, they get goobered up pretty quick using 150 foot pounds of torque.

Oh yeah, forgot you guys torque to 150. My S197 is 100 and my wife’s Accord is 80.

I replaced mine with McGard lug nuts and have not had any complaints.

Yes ! After many track days switching tires with a impact gun and torque them to 150 17 out of 20 lug nuts had cap loose. Replaced with gorilla and they are really good with factory rims. Gorilla 61148CX thats the part number. Ebay has them for around 50-60$

I use the OEM lug nuts with my winter rims. They're 21mm across the flats and they're fine so long as you don't use an impact to tighten them or loosen them. I loosen them with a breaker bar and spin them off with the impact. I spin them back on to "firm but not tight" with the impact and torque them with a torque wrench.

For summer, I use black McGard lugs - 64074 - with my black rims. They look better made than the Gorilla lugs, but that may not matter much. I've had them on for a couple of track seasons and they've been great. Again, don't wail on them with the impact wrench, just use it as a nut spinner.
