Belly pan or skid plate?

Venting. It seems no matter how slow I go over speed bumps in my neighborhood the damn belly pan keeps getting scratched. It’s gotten to the point where I’m not sure if it isn’t a skid plate. I’m contemplating putting the shipping blocks back in. Well, maybe not but it’s tempting. I might just buy a spare. Anyone verify the part number for our cars? and maybe installation info. Install should be a breeze, but sometimes there are gotchas. Thanks!

Nope. Stock. Gotta drive over those things very slowly. Too slowly.

I don't mean to be a hijacker, but I have to ask: how do you keep curb ramps from being stolen? (I'd love to get some, but don't know how I'd keep them.)

It’s 3 sections bolted together. 12’ long weighing over 200lbs of flexible recycled tires. Some kid on his bike isn’t hauling it away. It’s a handful for 1 person to muscle around even if they have a truck. My security cams cover the driveway but so far no one has messed with it. I brought it inside my shop for the winter so a plow doesn’t hit hit and it was a bitch for me to move alone using a furniture dolly.

Are those some special speed bumps? Are you scratching the deflector on the leading edge or the leaving edge?

It gets the recessed holes area where the bolts fit in. It seems that it’s lowest to the ground on either side of the belly pan.

Installation is not fun on these if you have the HP splitter. Otherwise it's just several 7MM screws and a few pop clips to remove.

@IPOGT OK, I was asking about the edges of the speed bump not the belly plate. To put it the other way around, do you scratch it when hopping on, or after hopping off (during the final downswing)? Could it be simply that the hump is too high, did you check the clearance?

I think it’s coming down when it scapes. I need to get after the city to replace the 1980’s style yellow mounds of asphalt speed bumps with the thin modern urethane ones that accept the modern lower cars. Wish me luck. I’m glad I didn’t get the H-P option.

Before it gets too bad, glob on some JB Weld plastic Bonder black.
I patched up some holes I got on a road trip last summer, worked good.
