Really nice build OP. :like:

Regarding the exhaust note/tone, I originally installed a H-Pipe but eventually wanted something not so cookie cutter so I went true dual with a set of 12" resonators and bullet flow through Magnaflow mufflers. It resulted in a smooth bourbon-like tone and the best part is that it got rid of a lot of the rasp at high RPM.

I agree with another members comment about a good sounding coyote but I get a ton of compliments with this set up.

So lockout IMRC back to functional IMRC and the planets aligned for you ?
Correct, but there were also tuning issues. Some tuners do a better job of tuning with lockouts and some don't. Since I'm going boost in the future, I went back to functional IMRC for now.

These engines are designed around the CMCV's. It takes a lot of changes to make them run right without the CMCV's. They only operate at part throttle so they in no way interfere with WOT performance.
Yep, agreed. Some have had good results with the lockouts along with the pre-boost, mild mods, but I believe it takes an ability to overlook some things that drive me more nuts than I'm willing to overlook. :cwl:

But, as I know you're astutely aware already, turning wrenches and dialing things in is all part of the journey.

Right,
That whole NA lockout scene especially on the 18 manifold swap has me shaking my head since day one.

Thanks!!

Good input, Dude, and much appreciated. I just ordered the Steeda H-Pipe and since I'm a 2 1/2 hour drive from Valdosta, I should be installing it by next Saturday and will post up the difference.

Yep, pretty mixed bag of results and certainly opinions, but what's cool about doing this stuff is one gets to live and learn, which adds to the broader experience base. At any point I appear to not get it, you have my permission to throw a Sponge Bob in this thread.

The best sounding coyote I've heard is my F150. It sends the exhaust into one pipe then splits off again into 2. I have a magnaflow see through muffler in the single pipe then a Y out over the axle and a pipe on each side in the rear.

Has that deep big block V8 sound. No drone and I get compliments a lot.

I'm seriously thinking of trying this on my mustang.

I've found for deleting the CMCV's (IMRC) is to study the gen 1 then embellish that tune for part throttle areas.

The F150 Coyote has a different firing order than the Mustang Coyote.
Can the Mustang Coyote firing order be changed without a cam swap ? From my limited knowledge of Coyote programing it’s possible to rechannel the spark and injector sequence. But with that change comes ruining the factory 4-2-1 header layout.
Sound right or am I looking at to many SpongeBob GIF’s lately ?

I agree. My nephews '19 F-150 sounds better than my Mustang and is the yard stick by which I'm measuring. I'll see what the H Pipe does for it and go from there.

Yep, the deletion was a bit of an experiment for me, as were the first set of headers. I have the time right now, knowing there are a lot of months on the horizon that I won't have the time, hence the name of this thread.

The experiment that worked incredibly well is the heat management effort. I'm running around now with a one to three degree delta between ambient and IAT. Very pleased.

This is a good question and something I've wondered about as I've compared my Mustang to my nephews F-150. I don't have the answer to this, but maybe @engineermike can chime in.
