Beefcake Vs VMP - 18 Manifold

I have my tune through Lund.
I talked to them and they said to get a 2018 manifold for my 16 Mustang through Beefcake.

Currently seems the 18 Manifold is on sale for $359. If I add MMR CMCV Lockout kit. The total is $419.98.

I believe VMP's cost is $499 for the manifold. They also offer a " VMP Plug And Play CMCV Harnesses For 2018 GT Intake Manifold On 2015-2017 GT " ($69.99).


So.. myself being a noob at this. My question is..
Do I even need a plug N play harness if I use the lock out kit. Obviously.. im not sure what all Exactly I am locking out. ;)

If so.. Will the plug and play harness from VMP work for me if I get the manifold and lockout kit from Beefcake?

Not sure why Beefcake does not offer a plug in play harness. Maybe because it's not needed. ;)

Any help/advice would be appreciated.

You just need one or the other. The lockout kit removes the CMVCs from the manifold and keeps the valves in the manifold locked open. The harness from VMP allows you to adapt the CMVCs for use with the 18 manifold, if you want to have them active in the tune. Keeping the CMVCs is supposed to help with midrange power and throttle response.

On my F150 I've ran the manifold both ways and honestly, it was hardly any difference in drivability. Zero difference at WOT because then they open immediately, around town it wasn't much. Overall, porting did the most for it. In my opinion they're not worth the cost however if you're kinda set on them, PM me and I'll sell ya mine way cheaper than they sell them for, I run a different manifold now

if your locking out, then you don't need the valves to work. so you can do 1 or the other
