Looks like they are out of stock now...
Looks like the word is getting out on how much of a bang for buck these headers are.

Question for those already running the Speed Daddy shorties: how is the underhood temp? Noticed it rising?
I got quoted $200 for ceramic coating them and I'm questioning myself if its worth it for my NA DD 3.7.

No concerns of temps nor I have noticed increasing temps which would also translate into higher IATs, CHTs etc.

More than short term problems like intake and cilinder I'm worried about long term damage to peripheral components like cables soaking in the additional radiant heat from the bare SS tubes.

Practice common safety precautions and make sure nothing is touching the manifolds (which is still something to look out for even with the factory manifolds). Any wiring/cabling near by is wrapped in heat resistant shielding. I also used high temp grill paint (2500* engine paint works too) which helps out with heat as well. I've seen ceramic headers also rust. High CHTs and IATs can potentially cause "long term damage" and reduced performance too. Heat is wasted energy that is best kept down as much as possible.

Hey whatdoyoufeedit?,

I am tempted to go with the speeddaddy headers especially because of the price point. However, I have heard that the material is much thinner than the BBK headers. Is this true? What gauge stainless steels is being used (304, 404, etc?) and how do you like them? Do you forsee any problems with these over the BBK?

Are any of you guys wrapping your headers or isn't it worth the effort ?

Incorrect, the DNA/Speed Daddy Headers are also 16 gauge (T-304 Stainless). BBK is the thin stuff. BBK uses mild steel for their base header and their ceramic coated units aren't much more impressive IMHO. See post here: http://www.fastfordmuscle.com/index.php/topic/209-thoughts-on-bbk-shorty-headers/page-10#entry10122 Does that look like quality metal to you? Either way they all will work well with the stock MLS gasket. Maybe their Quality Assurance varies, either way I just refuse to pay excessive prices for shorty headers with that type of workmanship and nasty welds. Hope this helps.

No you're fine, it was me who quoted the wrong person lol. The mistake was on my end. You are 100% correct and they (DNA/Speed Daddy headers) are 16 gauge with quality materials.
