Sorry to disagree my friend, but theirs also a saying u paid all that money just because of a name.Their are quality headers out their under a grand, thats not saying the popular ones on this site are not top quality. That said i cant count the the times i spent double the amount for a product just to find the same quality for alot less.

This is a very valid argument and I totally get your point.

One key thing you'll notice, what company out there is using these on their car? What brand, currently, is every performance company using on theirs?
The major company you'll see is ARH and trust me, its not because they offer a deeper discount for companies to run their product.
Stainless Works and Kooks as well provide an awesome Header setup.

The key takeaway is reviews, you'll find very little to zero negative reviews on ARH, SW or Kooks in the regards of headers. Next would be the ability to discuss goals and options with not only a performance shop like us but the actual manufacturer.

Do we offer lower cost brands? Yes, however, we do recommend the higher cost brands. There are plenty of times we've had to replace a set of lower cost headers, and a lot of times those customers are paying addition labor to fix the issue.

a little extra money up front will save you the additional time, money and headache later on.

I agree and like i said in my post prior i perfer kooks.I know this thread was directed towards bbk and i stated my experience with them.Did some customers have issues yes,but i read of issues with some of the top ones on here already and im not using names thats not my point.Their is a fine line between getting what u pay for and paying for something just because its the popular item. That said i will be sending u guys a pm soon to get some prices on the kooks Lt!!!!!.

i just bought a set of the bbk longtubes, they dont have the mid pipe out yet, so i am going to fabricate them into my lethal resonator delete pipe from lethal. going to try and base dyno it saturday if i get chance before i put them on. i had them on my 408 fox and my 08 GT with great results.

I can't speak for fitment, but I will say I ordered a set for my 12 and the welds looked horrible and were incomplete around the O2 bungs (like they would have had an exhaust leak incomplete). I called American Muscle, sent them pictures and returned them.

I remember having bbk headers back in the day on my 89' 5.0,and you weren't cool unless you had the equal length versions haha. But on my 15' I just can't do it... ARH is my only choice....that is when I can afford them!!

Personally long tubes are long tubes, that was proven already when everyone was beating up SW headers saying they didn't make power compared to others.. But for a set of headers on a budget for less than 500 bucks you can't go wrong, at least thats what i paid, even if i have to throw an extra weld somewhere. i will take the extra 1000 and put somewhere else. i should be getting them soon, for they have shipped already. Everyone will have their own preference. Mine is to make decent power on a budget.:headbang:

On my previous fox body mustangs, I've never had a problem with BBK fitment. They may not look as nice as the more expensive brands, but the fit is good and they performed great. I twisted off and bought Kooks for one of my cars and the fit sucked. Ended up having to massage a couple of the tubes. Spent all that money on a quality header and had to beat it with a hammer.

Perfectly said!

We are a BBK Distributor as well as an ARH, Kooks, Stainless Works, Gibson, Dynatech etc... We recommend the higher end brands because they are right every time. We as shops do not want to mess with fitment everytime we install the same product. BBK's in our experience sometime fit perfect and sometimes do not. The problem with the times they do not fit is having to explain to a customer why they do not if they are made for the car. Then we get into long and drawn out explanations about jigs, and fabrication etc....

Id rather sell you on something a bit more expensive, but be 99%(because nothing is perfect) assured that when you get it you won't be calling me back to complain.

Well i recieveved my BBK long tubes last night and saw a hole in the side with part of the header sticking out and thought here we go..... but thankfully nothing was damaged or bent and i will say the headers looked great and would even put them on a show car, no need to add any welds and the finish was great as well. Now I hope the fitment is as good as they look. just waiting on the 02 extentions now, they sent the wrong kit, 15.s are different than previous years from what they said.
