Battery going dead with radio on, engine not running

The battery on my still new to me 2019 GT Premium goes dead when parked in the garage, engine not running, with the stereo on, Volume 15ish, for a couple hours. I have never experienced this with a car battery before. I purchased a charger, and leave it on overnight when this happens, and all is good until an extended period with the stereo on and the engine not running.

Is this a (old or bad) battery issue or a known issue? Pics of the current battery and charger I purchased are attached.

If that's the original battery, that's probably why. The OE batteries in these cars are notoriously weak and short-lived. Get it tested to be sure, but I'd be willing to bet it's on its last legs. Enough power to start the car, but not enough reserve power to run accessories for much time at all with the engine off.

Modern cars are also battery hogs with all of the electronics. Even with just the radio on, there are dozens of other things running in the background.

so when you do this the dash should read "full power accessory mode" ?

With a 5 year old battery I m not surprised it s going dead with that much play time anyway.
I m sure here s a section in the manual.

I bought a 2013 Accord new and it did something similar which surprised me.
But like others have said get the batter tested to be sure, most autoparts store will do it for free,

You can also buy a battery tester off amazon for around $25, bought one and my wife's SUV said " replace battery" but it was cranking great so I assumed it was wrong..Well a few months later it left her stranded.

You might be surprised how many amps your car draws with the key on, radio on, and playing music. I would expect this behavior personally.

That was the sign when mine was about 5 years old that it was on its way out. It got to where if I played the radio for 15-20 mins it would not start the car without a hot-shot or putting the charger on it. Go get you a new one before you end up stranded at the golf course, like me.

Totally forgot I have a brand new battery tester I bought for the boat. Unplugged the battery charger, removed the clips, hooked up the tester and it shows the battery is good. Is that because there's a full charge on it right now?

Looks like the one I have Probably good to go but may test it again in a few weeks.

So since the battery tests good, at least right after a charge, sounds like this is common with all the electronics on this car. That's disappointing, if I were to go somewhere, park, listen to the radio for a couple hours, my battery is going to go dead.

The days of leaving the windows down and playing the car stereo are gone I think.

They why they highly recommend using a battery charger when you push a tune to the ecoboost. If the battery dies in the middle your screwed

Reset BMS, and if this doesn't work get your battery LOAD tested by two diffrent places
