Who ever got the yellow welt and did the trim where did you get it and how much did you need. Found a local company but they want 20 bucks per yard

I got it on eBay, here's a link to exactly where I bought it. http://m.ebay.com/itm/200980968097?nav=SEARCH

I bought 4 yards for $5 shipped. That was enough to do both doors and the dash. Might have enough left over to do the center console if I ever feel like it.

How do you get the welt piping to stick in place, in the door?
You could always try affixing it with a tiny thin bead of "Crazy Glue", right? Of course, just like contact laminate adhesive, you got (1) shot to make it right and then its "ON", crooked or not and the fact that any excessive glue will mess up the Door Panels. Really worth all that fuss & bother, you think? I`ll pass!

^??

Here is a picture of the welt piece that you order from ebay:

I haven't done it yet, but I assume that you push the flange part into the gap between panels until only the piping is visible.

I have a white car, but I'm going with blue piping to match the stripes I'm eventually going to be putting on.

Thanks OP for the idea.

You're right you just push that flat piece in between the panels and there's enough friction there for it to stay without needing any glue or tape. I've had mine in since January and they haven't moved at all.

Anytime!

Edwin is correct, just push the flat pieces into the gap (might need to trim the welt if it sticks out) and it should stay in place. If you do the doors like me, there are a few problem areas such as the corners farthest from the hinge / near the metal trim in which I just cut the flange off and used 3M auto tape. It's not the most effective (I refuse to glue it) but it still works and looks decent.

Reaper,

Thanks for this simple and inspiring mod..

I quickly did some color changing to your photo to see what the two other colors the ebay seller has in stock.. Red still looks the best to me..

LED footwell and Rear Tail Light Chrome

*If anyone is having trouble viewing my uploaded pics let me know... Microsoft screwed up OneDrive  which I use to host my public pics in which the URL's are changing every day. If they don't fix it soon I'll use another pic storage provider.

Reaper,

Thanks for this simple and inspiring mod..

Anytime and agreed about red looking the best - I'm biased! ;)

Well I finally got around to adding my red LED strips to the foot wells and managed to tap into similar wires in the front passenger pillar (automatically turns on / off with map lights):

I was also interested in getting a pair of the 50th anniversary taillights but ended up ordering some S550 specific precut chrome trim that gives a similar look for a fraction of the price:

I wasn't sure if I'd really like the chrome trim but it really seems to add more detail to the rear without going overboard. The red LED strips also compliment the red trim previously added. That being said, the red LED strips and chrome trim turned out pretty well in my opinion.

Next up I'm thinking of getting some high quality 3.7 fender badges to help tie everything together:

Bought the stuff a couple weeks ago, finally got around to doing it. Did white since I kind of have a black and white theme going on. As far as doors I did 5 yards, turned out to not be enough to do full circle on each door, and I was getting annoyed trying to get it in the chrome handle area, so I cut off some to do a semi circle and really liked it, plus it left me with enough to do both doors.

Like I`ve said previously, Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder. I have a `15 Vert with the Cloth Ebony Black Interior and I don`t care for the added piping trim in (any) color. Leaving mine alone, "Stock".
