The motels I stayed in, in central Illinois, were all precast concrete construction. It's fascinating watching them being assembled. An entire motel/hotel takes about 2 - 3 days, just stacking slabs of precast. I do have a humorous story about one of the motels I stayed in....

I looked for motels that had monthly rates. You can save a lot of money and I get to pocket the difference between what it actually cost me and my per diem allowance. With the monthly rental, they only clean the room and change sheets and towels once per week, usually on the weekend when I'm back home. I take my clothes home to wash them so the only thing left behind is some food in the frig.

On returning to my motel room from home, one Sunday night, I opened the drawer to put my clothes away and to my surprise, I find a large dildo! I called the front desk and tell them they need to send someone to my room immediately. A middle aged man shows up and I ask him to remove this toy. He puts on gloves and handles it like it's radioactive! I moved to another motel after that.

I hope they changed the sheets AFTER doing whatever they were doing that involved a dildo.

The hourly rate motels are the most exciting though 🤣

Progressive has been an absolute nightmare to deal with and the kick in the balls just keep coming from them! I HIGHLY recommend anyone who has them to go over your(mostly home owner's) policy in detail!!!
From the gist of your post it sounds like they’re really screwing around with the homeowners policy. Do you also have them for the car and are they also being a pain in the ass on that?

Yes, also for auto. Once this is all sorted out we are switching insurance with urgency! My car wasn't hurt but, the wife's car was. They are fighting totaling it out, yet are planning on replacing every panel on the car except for the driver's door.

Did you get the insurance yourself, website, or through an insurance guy (broker)?

I have progressive and heard so many nightmare stories. But my insurance guy who is really good and trust worthy said he has never had an issue with an claims he file for his customers. Told me most problems people have are through the a website or doing it on their own.

Irregardless anytime you have a claim on any insurance it's time to move on. Every couple of years I review the insurance with my guy to see if there are better rates.

Sorry you're having issues. I wish you the best.
