No real need to, just to add a subwoofer. Now if upgrading other speakers and adding amps, then definitely go with the PAC Amp Pro.

Right can be different for different situations and needs.
So should I use the back speakers to tap into for the +&- to plug into to lc2 or should I tap into the stock sub it came with in the trunk

Eh, to each their own but doing it “right” means eliminating the stock bass roll-off which you can’t do tapping into the rear wires. And an LCi2 isn’t necessarily required if he’s adding an amp. Many amps are available with LOCs built in.

I agree. I will say most will not notice that bass roll off at all when tapping into the rear wires.

Please take note, we were referring to using the Amp Pro before the signal reaches your amps. If your amp has both high and low inputs, no need for the lc2.

I missed it but if you have the B&O, no need to mess with the back speakers at all. You tap into the correct wires from the existing subwoofer.

So basically pull the stock sub out disconnect the clip and use those wires for the signal to connect to the Lc2

I have used regular loc converters on stock systems before even on my f150 but I never had the aftermarket sound system to tap into so I didn’t know if it was little different, I was told Lc2 is good for stock amps for better quality when adding a aftermarket sub and amp

Yes, but the subwoofer is dual coil, so you have to use the correct pairs of wires. I will have to take a look at which ones they are but if you do a search you should be able to find wher I and others describe which pairs to use.

can you clarify what you’re doing? Are you adding an amp or reusing the stock amp?

Yikes good question. Although, I would never rely on those few watts coming from the stock dsp/amp.

If I’m understanding correctly you want to add an aftermarket amp and sub. What amp are you looking at? As I stated previously you can get many amps that have high and low level inputs which would make an LoC redundant. You can definitely pull the signal from the stock wiring but you’ll still need to run new power and ground wires. And if you want to eliminate base roll-off you can use a Audio Control Epicenter and one of their amps, or you can use one of their all in one amps that do LoC and bass restoration.

Yes. There’s a pinned post in this section that shows which wires are which.
