I have a base 21 GT MT with active exhaust. It has a flowmaster scavenger series X-pipe but I am wanting to get an axle-back in hopes to make the car louder and get rid of the active exhaust. Looking at the flowmaster outlaw series but want to know if there is a better option. Please give me your opinions. Thanks!

FYI, while Flowmaster mufflers are loud, they’re known for their annoying drone.

If you want something equally as loud, look at the Steeda or Roush axle back. I have the Steeda and I also deleted my Active Exhaust. It’s very loud, especially with LTHs, but it sounds really good IMO. Whichever system you choose, try and stick with stainless steel which will last much longer than mild steel systems.

When you deleted your active exhaust does it throw a code? Did you simply unplug the connector in the back?

No codes or warning lights on the dash after disconnecting the AE. I bought an AWE bracket and mounted the actuators in it. This allowed me to keep everything plugged up to keep the PCM happy, as it sees the system as functioning properly.
