Hi All
Quick question will an S650 axle back active exhaust (aftermarket) fit an S550.

I would like to purchase the mbrp race exhaust for my 2020 Bullitt but don’t want to lose the active exhaust function.

the s650 race has active exhaust. Just wanted to know if anyone has experience if this will fit ?.

thanks

I think the hangers are different so it would probably take a little modification. Would also need to research if the harnesses for the valves are pinned the same way. I’ve heard the S650 aftermarket catbacks will not work with S650, what I don’t know is if it’s purely the hangers or if the wiring is actually different too

Thanks.
I wouldn’t need to change the wiring because I can use the current active exhaust motors in my s550 and switch it over to the other exhaust.

Assuming they fit in the S650 muffler housing. I haven’t heard that Ford changed the actual motor design but I haven’t pulled part numbers to find out

That’s definitely something I can check but I’m guessing ford would have just used the tried and tested s550 valve motors

I assume that as well. I think it’s primarily the hangers that will cause the most problems. I haven’t heard of anyone modifying them to fit an S550 but where there’s a will, there’s a way

Yeh pretty sure any exhaust shop with welding tools would be able to adjust the hangers?.
Looking at a photo of the MBRP axle back for the s650 the active exhaust motor slot looks the same with the same bolt positions as the s550

Yes
It came standard with the Bullitt.
I currently have MBRP catback street with active exhaust and would like the race version.
But only the 2024 model has the option for race with active exhaust.
im hoping to just purchase the axle back and make it fit ?
