Why use your own money when you can use someone else's? I'd never pay up front, full cash for a car or a house. Let that money work for you and reap the benefits of both. Remember, a dollar today is worth more than a dollar tomorrow. Inflation eats up a lot of the debt and if you got the 0% deal, that's free money.

I was more than a little shocked to see this piece in FA and it got me wondering about comparable Mustang payments. It’s hard to see how the average family can afford this.

If your Mustang is financed would you mind sharing your monthly car payment?

Heck, it seems to me that $1000/month is getting into the house payment range. But maybe I just need to get up with the times…
First of all, what is "FA" and what piece are you referring to?

Secondly, there is no such thing as a $1000/month house payment anymore, unfortunately.

To answer the other question, I got 0% financing on my GT, so I put nothing down and as you can imagine, the payment is pretty steep (36 months). I think around $1300.

2020 Base with 301A, Active exhaust, and the spare tire.

Bought it last month with 15k miles, out the door for 37k and had 10k in trade equity so I ended up at $430 a month.

I was at about $230/month. 10k down payment and traded in my old Civic Si for 7.5k. Base model manual was 25k with extended warranty at 2k. APR was like 4.5% in 2019 before the scamdemic. Four year loan was paid off in 1 year for me.

Sure my credit score is 780 but that's not important. What's important is buying a car that's no more than 25% of your salary. If it's a little higher and that's your entertainment, fine. Anything is possible with a high down payment.

There is no such thing as average payments for a car.

That's a silly question.
