Hello to everyone in the mustang community! I just bought a 2019 5.0 with a roush blower yesterday and came out of a 2019 Charger scatpack. Glad to finally be apart of the community as I’ve been eyeing a supercharged 5.0 for a few now. I have multiple questions and some concerns about the car so far, I’ll post threads in regards to the other stuff.
So I have the headlamp switch set to A (automatic) all the way to the right and noticed in people’s car reflections that my headlights (low beams meant for night) are turned on for some reason and the light symbol isn’t even on, not sure what’s going on but are the low beams supposed to be on during the day time? Never seen this happen in my last 4 cars

The daytime running lights (DRL) are headlights on low, not the tri-bar "gill" lights, which are always on. Check your settings for the on/off option for the DRLs.
If you need the owner's manual, it might be in the glove box compartment behind the little yellow tab, or you can download it from the Ford website.

The low beam lights will turn on at a reduced brightness for daytime running lights when set to automatic even though the Mustang has the three lights to the inside of the headlights next to the grill that light up as well. If you turn the headlights off only the three lights next to the grill will be lit up.

So the DRL on the 18-23 mustangs are the low beams themselves and not the 3 LED’s? That’s kind of weird and counterintuitive. I have to check the settings

My head lights always stayed on, I had the dealer set them back to American settings to solve the problem. Forscan can be used as well.

When they switched it back to American settings, did the 3 LED’s remain on during the day?

It was completely broad sunny day light outside. It wasn’t like dark or gloomy and the light symbol wasn’t on either because the A with high beam symbol wasn’t showing white like it would at night time

The tri-bars are now configured as the daytime running lights. My car was originally registered in Canada, where headlights must be on at all times, including during the day at reduced brightness. As a result, all of my other lights were on during the day. After installing clear taillights, I wanted them to remain off during the day to showcase their clear appearance instead of the red. I had the system reprogrammed so that only the tri-bars are on during the day when the headlight switch is set to auto, with all other lights remaining off.

DRL are great for safety / visibility to other mainly distracted drivers.

I actually turn my light with fogs on al the time...

This sounds like my Canadian market car. Low beams on all the time regardless of how I set things. If you get a forscan setup, you will be able to modify this to your liking. I currently have my car set up so the turn signal / parking light in the front are the DRLs. The tribars still illuminate as well and low beams off.

Alright guys looks like Farkel was right, just was behind someone and unchecked daytime running lights and the low beams shut on and off. The low beams are the DRL’s themselves however I checked the carfax and the car doesn’t look like it was ever sold in Canada. Might have to get it forscan or dealership

Easy enough to check - just get out and look while the engine is running, or pull into a parking space in front of a reflective store window.

Be careful, I'm not sure common sense is allowed on internet forums...

Guilty as charged. I do have a tendency to state the obvious.
