Parking lamp console light always on

I just brought home my wife's 2016 Ecoboost convertible with Performance package and pretty much every other option.

I have the headlamp feature set to Auto (all the way clockwise), and for some reason the green parking lamp console light remains on at all times. Is this supposed to remain on? I've scrolled thru every option/setting on the instrument cluster and scoured the manual but haven't found the answer.

When the headlights are on, the green light turns on to tell you your headlights are on.

If the indicator is staying lit during daylight driving, it may be a problem with the photocell. If it is malfunctioning, the resistance may be telling the system that it's dark out and the lights need to be on. Have you verified whether the headlamps are actually on when the indicator is lit?
