I also have the "clank" and was just about to start a new thread about it-- will be taking it again soon I guess.

Mine was fixed last week. Somehow a bolt in the rear flange broke off. It has been replaced and no clank going on 50 miles.

Just got a call from the dealership, seems like it was a problem with some 2015 models (mine is a 2016). They have 2 California edition mustang in their showroom neither or them have the sound.
Long story short they're ordering the full assembly (front flange, Driveshaft and rear joint).

I had the same problem with mine.
Solution : exchange of the universal joint propeller shaft.
I hope this is the right translation...

Did you take it to dealer? I mean it's a warranty item!

The mechanic told me that they just change the front flange and torque to specs (front and rear).

I have this issue as well. Thought it was normal. Guess not. Wonder if I will get a rental/loaner while they fix it? Or is it an hour or two fix?

Same issue here, 2016. Clinks going between D and R, also sometimes when going from idle to D just by hitting gas.

Aside from being annoying, does this damage anything?

Told my dealership about the front flange thing but they basically ignored me-- they're ordering a whole new driveshaft.

Alright, seems like my car has developed this issue lately. It happens most obvious when you shift from P to R you get this clank like an uneven manhole cover.
Will call dealer asking what they would do about it.
Part of me believe it's just the nature of the two piece drive shaft.

Doubt it if people are reporting getting it fixed. Never heard this on my 2012 with the two piece.
