Exhausts are really a personal thing, just like wheels. No one can really tell you what's the "best" sounding. Go for what you like

What do you think of s-type ? Is it legal?
Its alot of guessing involved at this stage, as its hard to find Db reads for pretty much all exhausts, as the manufacturer does not need to meet Australian laws, so they generally do not advertise the volume of their exhaust, also different applications/mods will change this figure too.

You will not know for sure until someone puts it on their car and has it tested. Most will not go and get it tested until they 'have to' (read defect notice).

The Corsa Sport is around 100Db as mentioned/tested a few pages back in this thread. So technically its not legal, but again, depending on a few factors, the owner my not ever get hastled about it.

I could give my prediction about the S-Type based on that, but its not backed up by any tested evidence so ill keep it to myself.

So like many here, ive been watching dozens of Youtube vids of Mustang exhausts for nearly 12 months. You get to the point were you just start getting more an more confused about what you like. :headbonk:
Its all personal preference,

Some want as deep/mellow as possible, even if it means drone.
Some want a lot of rasp / volume.
Some want an in-between setup.
H or X pipe?
Are your neighbours reasonable people? or will they be calling your local council constantly because of your 4 am startups.
Daily driver/weekend car?

There are a lot of things think about, to make things easier for yourself later on.

All you can do is just find one you like the sound of, and ticks all the boxes for you, and buy it, there is no wrong answer. ....... or wait until you hear one in person.

If you don't mind changing it up a few times until you get what you like you can Yuvraj it and try a few!

Totally agree MustangDownUnder. Especially the last part. Whenever in doubt, just order 6 exhausts and chuck what you don't like away.

He said not very loud NOT the loudest on the market. Id take out the factory suitcase and go a H or X pipe if you want a bit of crackle n pop.
I personally like the Roush axle backs but find they're a tad louder than I wanted, then I found out Roush own SLP exhausts and basically do a quieter but equaly as deep sounding axle back under the SLP Loudmouth 2 name so I've ordered them.....bloody good price as well.

Check out some videos for different exhausts on youtube, there are quite a few for most setups available for the Mustang.

You should get a good idea of what the crackles and pops or rasp is like on youtube videos.
Its more the deeper, mellow tones that are lost or are less dominant once recorded. Some of that depends on what you are using to play the video back with.

If you have a good set of headphones, that's probably the best way to play back the videos to get a better idea of the sound you will get out of different exhausts. But even then you miss some of the deeper tones. There is no substitute for hearing the exhaust system in person.

Volume is also hard to compare on videos, you should rely more on direct comparisons or first hand reviews to get an idea of how loud an exhaust is, compared to another. Often the people making the videos will comment on how loud one system is compared to another.

The S type is still LOUD if you ask me, maybe a set of Roush axle backs will do the trick? They seem to pop n crackle. But yeah use headphones for sure.
