I did some more videos today to try and show how my new Borla X Pipe #60662 sounds with the active exhaust. Gives a bit of an idea.

Hi Peter just had a listen to the nice videos you posted re the New Borla X Crossover Pipe. Glad you are enjoying it. Just a little footnote for you. I had dinner with David Borla in Vegas last year just when they released the new style X-Pipe and he made mention that on the dyno their car after installing the pipe saw gains of around 20hp over the standard factory resonator. Here in Melb we have had a similar result after having had a car on the dyno before and after. Enjoy the new found sound. For any Mustang6G.com members in Australia who are after the same X Pipe we have another container of Borla products arriving in a few weeks and we can give you a super good price if you mention this post. Call us on 03 9553 6915 or visit www.americanspeed.com.au
Is that sort of HP increase only with 2018+ or do the 2015-2017 get a similar increase and can use same pipe?

Phil has it on his car, as does Erkan. I'm sure they'd be happy to give you a listen

Maybe.....but with the demise of DPE where else do we go? For what its worth my American Exhaust - AWE is a remarkable piece of engineering, delivers great sound/volume and no drone. I think even Harrop have now moved to a third party exhaust supplier. It's the real dilemma for Mustang owners who want to enhance their car with Australian only products. It is very challenging to do.

Streetfighter are a premium Australian exhaust manufacturer that have been supplying Ford enthusiasts for over 15 years .
Streetfighter exhausts are made with highest quality manufacturing materials and tolerances, and have a premium sound quality that differs from the U.S style sound.
We prefer to deliver more of a mature and deep smooth V8 note with a fantastic V8 Supercar sound on acceleration.
We also guarantee NO Drone! We include a 3 Year / 100,000 km Driveline warranty and have specialist fitters Australia and New Zealand Wide. Our exhausts have supported over 1000 HP along with 100s of every day driving Mustangs.
We are not a U.S company, we are 100% Australian.

Hi Hornet much the same gain on the 15-17 GT. This new Borla X Pipe is a direct replacement for the factory front resonator on the 15-19 Mustang GT. Very simple install. Simply cut the existing factory resonator away and install the Borla X Pipe. Slips straight up to the factory attaching points at the front. All instructions are included as well as new clamps etc. For details you can call me on 03 9553 6915 or email [email protected]

Thanks Fred. That HP increase sounds like a good added bonus to the new sound, not that I have noticed it. I plan on making a couple of drive by sound clips this weekend if I can find a deserted area nearby as well as a quite mode start up for an interested US forum member.
Borla hope to have their own video for the centre pipes kit done next week.

Should be interesting to see how the exhibit the mode, with a before and after demo hopefully.

I was keen on a Hurricane till i found out they're not 304 Stainless (409 instead i think). I was actually leaning towards the SF since they are. Maybe the hunt continues?

I haven't heard them yet so nothings 100%...
Bugger i was gonna go for the Hurricane as well. Good info, thanks for sharing

Looks like if i want a quad system the choice is out of Streetfighter or Tickford

Streetfighter offer a NO PAY guarantee on our cat-back exhaust on fitment.
We invite you to have our Streetfighter Cat-back system fitted at one of our Streetfighter Specialist Workshops. After fitment and immediate road test, should you decide not to purchase we will return your vehicle back to original. No Charge!
This is how confidant we are in our quailty and sound. Should you decide that you want to go a level louder , we can continue to fit our Full Streetfighter system therafter.

Just a little thing to beware of regarding claims by of Exhausts and Headers being made of 304SS.
Firstly check that you are actually getting 30SS by using a magnet. If the magnet sticks to it then it isn't 304 Stainless Steel. 304 Stainless Steel is non magnetic.

Go the Ford Performance over either of the other two. Quality and sound is miles ahead with zero drone. In the next few weeks I will be importing some Quad tip rear mufflers so if you currently have a Borla system or a factory system there maybe a quality Quad Tipped axle back may become your cheaper alternative.

Thanks Fred, so I'm guessing it would then be possible to go the Borla Touring system with your quad tipped axelback?...What valance would suit that? .

To ensure clarity.
All Streetfighter exhausts are made with 304 grade stainless steel, Tig welded and supplied with high quailty german bolts fitting kit.
Our Streetfighter headers are made 0f 1 7/8 Mild steel then Ceramic Coated for heat dissapation and lifetime reliabilty.
We prefer to manufacture Ceramic coated mild steel headers over stainless headers. The ceramic process is more costly however the end result is preferable.
All the above allows us to offer the absolute best exhaust system that we can for Mustang.

Stainless steel headers grow and contract at faster rates with heat. This results in expansion of the pipes creating creaking between and on heat cycles. We believe the sound is also tinnier and not as deep and smooth as Ceramic mild steel headers.
Both materials have the same performance characteristics.

The debate over ceramic coated mild steel vs stainless steel headers has been going on for 40 years.
We have manufactured both and our company preference is definitely Ceramic coated mild over stainless.

Hey all, i,m getting an x-pipe put on my car today, and was told i would need a tune because of the change in back pressure,
is the tune really a necessity or bit of a money grab.
Cheers.
